Very Good

I have never owned such a great line trimmer. Followed directions on starting and it started very easily. This thing will cut. I have tried to bog it down but couldn't. I have cut ditches with ease. Only drawback about this unit is the handle will not tighten fully and will move around. Since the housing is plastic, I don't want to put too much pressure on it in fear of cracking it. I would definitely buy this unit again.

Unusable
Don't get me wrong, I love Sears' products. but this trimmer was beyond me. First, their 800-number told me that the model had a defective gas cap. I had it replaced, successfully, free of charge. I continued to be unable to get the trimmer to start at almost any time. I returned it for a full refund.

Weedwacker

Ok as far as getting the job done...sometimes can be difficult to start. Don't like it as much as my old one...in the process of repairing it so I can have a backup when necessary. Just a regular weedwacker...nothing special about it.

Did not last a year, and repairs cost $90.00.

Sears would not honor their extended protection plan.  The trimmer broke within a year.  They offered to repair it for $90.  The support staff were rude and inconsiderate.  This was the last purchase I will make from sears.

Good product for the price

While this model may not have all the features of highly priced models, it is the best value by far. Good: This one starts easy, runs smooth, and gets the job done right. It's lightweight and has an easy to squeeze trigger. Bad: The auto line / bump feature does not work (most don't). Also, it would have been nice to have the flip function, like my old Craftsman weedwacker, to allow edging.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Convertible 25 cc* Item # 07179102000P

Takes a few more pulls that I would like but once started it works fine. Gas/oil mix is essential as it seems to lack full RPM/power at times. Flipping it to full choke 1-2 times and then back to normal while at full throttle corrects this, but you shouldn't have to do that. Overall for the money it's ok, but I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a more powerful engine. It is relatively light and easy to control and the line feed system works as well or better than most. It is a bit of a gas guzzler but that is a minor issue for me because I go through less than a gallon per year anyway. Overall, being the least expensive "Convertable" Craftsman, it is about exactly what I expected.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Weedwacker

I baught the weedwacker and the speed start accessory, and was really impressed with both units. The weedwacker was easy to start with lots of power and really light to carry around.

Hasn't failed me yet!

I've had this trimmer for a year now and it has yet to let me down. I have put in some pretty thick weeds and it continues to run flawlessly. Almost like it's asking me if that's all I got. Love this trimmer and would recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
