This is great for all uses. Its portable so you can take it anywhere. The light is super bright "dont look at the light". The charge last a pretty long time. Well lets just say It has not went dim on me yet. The hook on it is good for attaching to anything when you need both hands. After all said it does not cost an arm and a leg like you would find elsewhere. Buy one and one for your freind.
Craftsman Cordless Rechargeable Work Light with 35 LED lights was a poor experience for me. Maybe, I just got a bad one out of the box, but had a few issues with this work light. It worked great at first and then about a month after purchase, I started noticing that the use times between charges was getting shorter & shorter. Before the degrading battery life, I had plenty of light for working under yard tractors & lawn tractors. I was not thrilled with the hanging hook. It was too small to really hang & keep light pointing where you wanted it to point (a bit too flimsy for me). I did like the ability to be able to recharge the light from my pick up truck or to be able to charge directly from a wall socket on my work bench in my shop. The plus's for this light were; good light, portability, ability to charge using a/c or d/c power sources. The negatives for this light were; battery did not last very long after about a month of use, the top hanging hook was too flimsy, mounting magnet would not hold the light all of the time or would be knocked loose pretty easy, I really was not too thrilled with the switch for the different light engagements (click for flas light, click for work light, & click again for all the lights, too much cycling of the switch to get the light you needed). This light had a 1-yr warranty, but due to unexpected illness, I was unable to exchange. I did go to the store to see if could be exchanged, but was too late. I did have one other friend that got the same light as a gift for Christmas, when I got my light & he had the same battery issue. His only lasted about 2 weeks before he started loosing the battery. If it had a more reliable battery, I might give it another chance, but with other reviews I have seen, me & my buddy were not the only ones, that had bad battery experiences with this light.
Overall, I've been happy with the light for working in the garage on my truck. the magnetic base has been useful and allowed me to stick it to a metal panel to free my hands up. That is also one of my gripes. The magnetic base has metal edges that has rough edges and scratches the metal surface if I'm not careful. There is a felt cover over the magnet itself, but it doesn't extend all the way around the edges. I ended up putting a piece of tape over the base to keep it from scratching things. The other part of the magnetic base is the clamp for the light. I've had several times where I went to take the light off a panel only to find that the magnetic base clamp was still stuck to the panel. I'm not sure if there is a better design than this, but it gets a little annoying when I only have one hand and have to pull the base off separately and reattach it to the light. The other thing to consider is how it changes lights. There is the wide side light and the front "pointer" light. You have to push the power button to cycle through the lights. First push turns on the side. Second push turns off the side and the "pointer" on. Third push turns both on. Fourth push turns both off. A little annoying to have to push the button multiple times to turn it off. Even with the minor annoyances, this has been a great light with long battery life and a strong light to see what I need. I could see getting another to give me additional light.
My husband loves this light, it is cordless which is a plus, rechargeable, either hangs or you can use the magnet. He can't think of anything he would fix. It has like three different settings and you can just use it as a flashlight as well. He loves this light so much I have to get another.

My brother gave me this for Christmas a couple years ago. It's a nice light, definitely bright when its fully charged. The battery life is pretty good, lasts about four hours before it becomes too dim to be useful. The magnetic base that comes with the light isn't strong enough to hold anything up. It barely holds itself to my toolbox without the light hanging from it. The on/off switch is a major pain. Instead of putting two toggle switches, on for the main light and one for the spotlight, there's only one switch that you have to push to toggle through four settings -- off, flood, spot, and all lights on. The switch is hard to push when your hands are dry and near impossible to press when your hands are covered in grease and grime. Overall, this light could have been a lot better.
I originally bought one for my husband. He love it! I bought a few more......The button allows you to switch from a flash light at the end to the wider and more brighter side light. I especially like the car charger. In case we lose electricity, I have one in our bedroom and one downstairs, and a few extra just in case. My hubby took one to work with him too.

I like that it has chargers for AC and Auto lighter. I like the magnet for mounting on metal, as well as the hook for hanging on hood or other spots. battery holds a charge and lasts a long time. The reason I only give this item 3 stars is because it is not very bright. I have an iPhone with a flashlight app which is 2 to 3 times brighter than this light. Very low candle power here. 35 very dim LED's. Perhaps that's why the battery lasts so long. I had bought a similar light to this one which was much smaller, with fewer LED's. However, it was much brighter than this larger, bulkier light. Bought this on sale @ less than 1/2 price. I kept it because it's convenient, but really wish it were brighter. If I had paid any more for it I would have brought it back for a refund. That's my two cents. You're on your own.
