I've had this seat for several years and it comes in handy inside and out of the garage/house. I've used it many times to sit on while replacing license plates on vehicles and also in the house while plumbing. Moves around with ease and has a little shelf on the bottom for your tools and/or parts.

I bought the mechanics seat for my husband. Two knee surgerys just put detailing our classic cars out reach for him. This seat is built well, and I know it will last for years. It's a Craftsman!

I bought this for my husband. He was always trying to get around his bike on a kitchen chair, was always leaning down to make adjustments and complaining that his back was bothering him. This seat is exactly what he needed. The only problem is that the wheels had to be pounded down in the slot for the chair to work properly. If you left them extended like they were I believe that they would have bent.

Very expensive for what you get. No parts list. Chair does not seem like it is built to last. Time will tell. It is comfortable. Good support for lower back.Height adjust has a good range. If lifted by chair portion, bottom falls off. Advise adding a hose clamp to lift cylinder on portion that protrudes from the rolling base to keep both together when picked up by seat. Will not advise anyone to buy this until I have used it for a year or so.

Picked up today with a rubber mallet (highly recommend using the mallet for the wheels). Had it together in less than 5 minutes. Anyone would be able to assemble this in the same amount of time. No instructions with the seat. For those who need assistance. 1) flip base over with 4 wheel holes facing up. 2) pound in caster wheels with mallet striking the wheel itself, make sure caster is touching the base after pounding in. They all go in quick and don't be afraid to strike them with some force, do not use a metal hammer for this step. 3) Place the hydrolic shock tube in the center hole 4) Place seat on shock - all done. If you lift it from the seat there is a possibly of the seat coming off, no screw or fastener to keep it locked to the shock. I am weighing in at just under 250 lbs and the seat held very secure and after sitting in it I had to work to get the seat to release from the shock when picking it up. May post another after using it in the spring to start vehicle maintenance. My con's and 4 stars are based on not having just a basic instruction sheet to document assembly , a parts diagram with numbers and a phone number for the Sears parts Dept in case you need to order a replacement wheel, shock or seat..

Love this chair, I work on motorcycles on handy lifts and this chair puts me right at working height, as I am 6'2" tall, I don't have to stand anymore

A heavy duty seat built to last. Shipped boxed with press together assembly. Use of a long drift and mallet would make installation of the casters a bit easier instead of pressing into place only because it's a bit awkward to handle.
