Easy to install and works with older HomeLink
I've never installed an opener before so I didn't know what to expect. The instructions were good and took me just over 3 hours (including programming both of our cars) to install it by myself. It was also very easy to make all of the final adjustments. A HUGE improvement over my previous opener, so much quieter. I've seen some complaints that other openers don't work with vehicle's homelink if it's older than 2011....I had no problem what so ever programming this one with my 2003 Chevrolet and my 2004 BMW. This has a lot of nice features, and don't be afaid to install this yourself!

Buyer Beware

Beware... Sears does not stand behind the 3 year parts warranty after 90 days as it reads in your manual !  Bought 2 in December and installed in April. Garage door started going back up by itself last week. The position sensor on the motor is bad. The only way they MAY honor the warranty is if you spend $99 for a technician to come to your house and then in turn orders the part. Otherwise they will only sell you this less than $50 value part by buying the entire motor for $109. Your roped in to their service. Battled this for days on the phone as they bounced me from department to department or disconnected from the call. I was never rude at any time. Do NOT buy craftsman and know that SEARS does NOT value you as a customer. I have been a loyal customer for 30 years and spent thousands this year alone. They do NOT care. Willing to lose a customer over a $50 part. REFUSE to pay 1/2 of the purchase price of this opener for a technician to tell me I need the part I already know is bad. Pulled the part from my 2nd opener and moved to my most active door. Will never buy Sears and/or Craftsman again. Researching to see if this is legal based on the language in thier warranty. Frustrated does not begin to describe me right now!

Die Easy

I bought 2 of this item 2 years ago. During the winter I got a phone call from my neighbor that my garage door was up! I got home, it was functional, so I figured maybe someone had the same code, so I changed it. It continued to open sporadically to the point I had to latch it when not in use. I did research and found that this item is notorious for the problem and sears does not cover it (not for free!). So I did not bother, my loss. It wasn't my main door, and I live alone, no biggie. Today is 2 years and it is beeping constantly that the rechargeable battery needs to be replaced on my main door opener! NOW, that's a problem! I don't even want to know what that's gonna cost me, it's not covered under warranty! So done with Sears! Good luck, I am sure this will go on clearance soon!

Sears craftsman 3/4 hp garage door opener

This is the best garage opener we've had. I love it. No need to use remotes since we had a keypad put in. So awesome. With a young child still living here and watching my grandson 3 times a week, I'm so glad there are safety sensors for the garage door. Overall this us a great product!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent Opener, Easy to Install

I just installed this opener yesterday. Everything went great except for the install documentation. There were multiple addendums included in the guide for the same installation steps. This led to some minor confusion for a short period of time. Aside from that this opener is excellent. It's extremely quiet and after running through the setup process for the door travel/force it works beautifully. The noise difference between a belt drive unit and a chain drive unit is spectacular. This thing is whisper quiet. My one concern is how the belt will hold up long term. Only time will tell... The auto on light feature when it detects motion in the garage is great. Running out to throw something in the trash or grab something quickly and having the light come on by itself is great. This feature is very responsive. I can barely get one foot into the garage before it switches on the light. This can be disabled if the user chooses but I like it. I installed this alone in an afternoon, 3-4 hours. I had to remove an old opener before installing this new unit which is why it took longer. I also completed this job alone. With a second set of hands it would have gone much quicker, without a doubt. Based on my experience I would recommend this to anyone on the fence about a belt drive opener. The only reason I give 4 stars is due to the documentation being a little confusing. If you take your time and review everything it shouldn't stop anyone with some DIY skills from installing this properly in just a few hours.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Stop working after 3 years

Warranty is 3 years, mine stop working after 3 years. Logic board went bad and would not pick up signal from the remotes. Cost of replacement board is about $125 and cost of a new garage door opener is about $200. Got myself a new opener from ********** instead with lifetime warranty for about $200 and new unit is so much more silent than the Craftsman.

Buyer Beware

Opener is fine as long as you program to your car opener . The remote is WORTHLESS...Had to buy a new one to program new car0used only to program car and now I need to buy another one to program another new car. It seems that 30 seconds is way too short for the remote to be operational--Buy another brand that has some quality--This has none!
