Product Description
Get a healthy, lush lawn with the Craftsman dethatcher
Help soil breathe easy and get plenty of water and nutrients with the Craftsman dethatcher for lawnsweeper. This universal accessory attaches to tow-behind lawn sweepers for riding mowers and cuts through dense layers of dead grass that accumulate on some lawns. It has seven heat-treated tines that flex and spring forward to dig into and remove these layers. By opening up the soil, the dethatcher helps grass develop strong, healthy roots for extra lush, green growth. And it will help you keep your lawn looking its best season after season.
This Craftsman dethatcher is 42 inches wide, so you can give your lawn the care it needs in less time. Attached to a lawn sweeper, it dethatches, sweeps and collects dead grass clippings in fewer passes. The dethatcher is constructed of heavy-duty steel that's built to last, and it's painted black to match your other outdoor lawn care equipment. The lightweight accessory weighs only 12 pounds. Backed by a 1-year general warranty.

I almost bought the seperate dethatcher, but after reading reveiws that people would use a yard sweeper after dethatching to avoid killing their back raking, this just seemed to make more sense. Knock everything out using one attachment instead of two. I was a little skeptical, considering there is only one reveiw, but I was amazed of how well it worked. Paired with the High Speed Craftsman Sweeper this is one outstanding yard tool. Only 20 minutes to assemble and install, instructions are simple and to the point. Don't hesitate, this is what your yard needs!
When this is first installed, and set properly, on level ground it works very well. However, if you hit a dip in the yard, keep an eye on it, it could fold under and drag upside down. The little metal hook that holds it does not help when it's in the "Drag" mode. That wheel must be in the front hole, I don't know why they put a second hole in the part, unless it's to use if you break that front one off when it folds under.
I love my sweeper, I've had it for years and I use it on many yards not just my own. The dethatcher is an awesome "Idea" but I've ruined two of them and almost the sweeper too because of it folding under.
Need to rethink the design. For now, I'm putting a push type thatcher on the front of my mower.
Good try sears, poor execution.

I bought this along with the Agrifab 38" sweeper and love it. I have not been able to dethatch and sweep at the same time since it tends to lift the sweeper's wheels enough so that they don't turn but, I dethatch then sweep. Maybe I will try some extra weight on the front of the sweeper. Overall, I love this dethatcher.
