This is one of the handiest (and least expensive) add-ons you can buy for your rollaway. Makes a great work surface, tools and parts will not roll around on it. I use the add-on shelf on every rollaway I have and have cut down a mat to fit on the shelf.
What, you are not worried because you will be placing a top box on your rollaway? This mat provides a nice cushioned base for a top box. The box will not scratch your rollaway and the bottom of your top box will not get scratched either. (Remember: rust starts in small scratches and grows out from there).
it doesnt fit perfectly, which is something they could easily fix; however, it's close enough really. BUT IT SMELLS TO HIGH $#%@. It's made out of one of those black rubbers that has a nasty smell that doesnt go away. i bleached mine for a full week and have laid it out in the sun for hours (which is how to flatten it out btw)...it still stinks...not as bad as when i got it, but still smells. it will stink up your garage.

Purchased one of these to keep the top of my bottom chest from getting scratched up. Even though I have an intermediate chest on top of it, the remaining exposed part of the bottom chest now has a heavy duty rubber mat protecting it. Purchased almost 5 years ago, it is holding up well.

I picked this up to protect the top of my rolling cart. It not only protects the top from getting scratched from the top chest I have on it but also protects the exposed lip from scratches and dings. It also provides a nice non-slip area for tools, beer, etc. Hey, I get thirsty when I'm working! It does smell funny at first but the smell went away fairly quickly and it never smelled up my garage. I did lay it upside down and but a box on it to help straighten it out which worked like a charm.

Echoing the other reviewers comments about the odor...I have several of these purchased in the past and they did not have the odor these have. I suppose Sears changed vendors. Also, the one I got was not cut square, I had to true it up before it would fit on my chest. Definately a step in the wrong direction...

I installed one between my upper and lower griplatch chests to help protect the small area that is exposed on top of the lower chest. This helps to prevent dings and scratches. If I ever remove the upper chests my lower roll-away grip latch chest will be ready to go as a cart. Be sure to check the dimensions of your lower roll-away in the catalog before selecting to make sure it will fit.

Overall, this is a fine product. Unfortunately, mine does not fit quite right. It is a little short lengthwise and slightly out of square. While this not really a big deal, it seems like it would be easy enough to get right.
