Craftsman Door Kit a Must!

I bought this and the 3-Shelf Module (Model# 14941) for my 6' workbench with stainless top.

It includes a black front lockable door, a rear black back wall panel, plus hardware.

You need to install this and the module you are installing with it at the same time if possible. It will save you a lot of time. Adding this and a shelf or drawer module doesn't require you to dissasemble or remove any major parts to your bench. I simply loosened &/or removed some of the bolts and installed the kits. Pretty easy to do and even easier if you have an extra set of hands to help.

Paint was good. Bottom of the door was bent so I had to do a little bending & fixing to get it looking ok. Nothing major enough to return but still a bummer.

If you have the shelving module without this door kit GET IT ASAP. Together they make a solid product in my opinion.

Do not purchase.
First, after removing the five drawers, I was able to mount the door. When I attempted to put the drawers back in, the door wouldn't open wide enough to get the drawers back in. I had to have someone carefully hold the door open to get the drawers back in. After mounting the lock, latch, and lock plate, the lock was not aligned properly. It seemed like the hole for the lock was drilled to close to the leading edge of the door, causing the latch and lock plate to be misaligned. This was the only purchase from Sears that I am disappointed in.

Nice Dust Protection

I like the concept of a locking door on the workbench modules, however, I wish the metal was thicker. It serves it's purpose, but could have been built a little more solid. Unlike some others who reviewed this product, I found it easy to install even over the 5 drawer module. I don't think the locking mechanism was well thought out, but it too serves it's purpose.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great addition to the shelf module

If you've ordered the shelf module, this is a must have. The back piece lays flush against the rear of the bench, which helps keep dust out pretty well. The door is mostly sealed around the edges as well, only real place dust could come in is the lower left and right corners under the bench. Only 'other' is the flat metal bracket that the lock grabs is kind of weak metal, so don't flex it at all or you'll shear it off.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Easy install

I bought this item to try to keep workshop dust and such out of the drawers and shelves installedl on my craftsman workbench and to provide some limited security . I wish I had purchased it at the same time as the workbench as the install would have been a more simple task. That being said, it was not awful to add to the existing assembled workbench. Took out 4 bolts on the back and two on the front. Everything fit great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great door if you need to secure your items

I purchased this door to secure the items under my work bench with the 3 shelf module. I have the module on the left side of my bench, and discovered I intially installed it to open to the right, but when the module is on the left, it will only open properly to the left, I did not see where the directions said that, but simple fix. It did take a little bit of effort to get everything lined up right wih the back panel and then the front went on fairly easy. I did a little adjusting to the locking mechanism that attaches to the bench and it works great. This worked out better for my needs then buying a rolling module that locks due to the sze of the items I needed to store. I may buy another one for the module I have on my other work bench also.
