The sliding mechanism is good, the adjustability is good, the base is good, the handle is good, BUT the the shaft that the drill locks onto, and the chuck that holds the bit, both wobble, making the entire tool useless. I'm going to try and exchange it for another and see if I just happened to get a bad one.

Does exactly what it's suppose to do. Definately designed for homeowner use and not proffessional use. My only complaints are that it's regular price is a little too high, $20 would be perfect, and the chuck is only 3/8ths instead of 1/2in and I wish the chuck key had some way of attaching to the guide. Since its not attached in any way I know I'm gonna loose it eventually. Craftsman Proffessional should make a version of this with a 1/2in chuck and get rid of all the plastic pieces and replace them with metal. I'd deffinately wouldnt mind paying around $30-$40 for that.
The item works Perfectly as advertised! I mounted to one of my benches and ran it through all of the angles I would need to drill wood doll holes and had no problems at all!

I was looking to drill a 1 1/4" hole with a spade bit in a 4x4, which was a tad deeper than my drill press could go, so I decided to order this doo-hicky after seeing someone use a similar product on youtube. My first impression of this device is that it is certainly built like you would expect for paying 18 bucks (I should have known better): cheap plastic parts in places you'd rather have metal. Furthermore, there is a fair amount of slop in the arbor, which leads to a considerable drop in accuracy as the length of the hole increases, and given time, I can see the amount of slop increasing as the bushings start to wear out (you don't get bearings this price point). My issue with the arbor slop isn't why I gave this product one star, however, it's because the aluminum sliding portion of the guide SNAPPED OFF clean while I was boring my hole with my corded drill. I would -gladly- pay 50 dollars for this product if it was actually built with some degree of precision and was meant to last.
