I don't think that anyone enjoys hanging drywall. It is heavy and a dusty, dirty job. That's why when you need to hang some board, you want to get it right the first time. Glue and screws hold drywall better than nails. Using screws to secure your board with minimize the risk of "drywall pops" down the road. If you do it right, that is. To be properly secured, drywall screws need to be set just below the surface of the board. You want the head of the screw to be low enough so that you can mud over it. You have to be careful not to set it tpo deep though. If you set the screw too deep, you will break the paper surface of the board and destroy the screw's holding power. On way to take the guess-work out of this task is to use the Craftsman Drywall Dimpler bit. This litte tool combined with your screw-gun make for the perfect screw setting system. It works just right, each and every time.

For the money it is a good product. Works as indicated, I felt it was a little inconsistant as far as depth of dimples but that could also be my unfamiliarity with the product. I was not impressed with its off center performance as I had to followup with a conventional drill to finish the screws that had to be set at an angle. Other than that I am impressed with its ability to convert a standard drill into a drywall screw gun.

I finished my basement and hung 40 sheets of drywall. This tool worked great for driving in the screws. It is magentic so it helps hold the screw for when you doing this job by yourself. I was surprised at how good it worked. Try it you will like it!

I bought one of these a few years back. After 100 screws (and less than two hours)-it failed. I returned it to the store and was told it was not covered under the Craftsman hand tool warranty. I will only buy Sears products that have the warranty printed on the package and my receipt is tehn stapled to it. This item is why I do not buy Craftsman power tools. I had that same disapointing experience with a circular saw. The hand tools are exceptional in durability and warranty-this item was neither.

This tool sets screws to the write depth every time, and works well in corners, and has a reversing feature to remove screws with out changing bits.
