It's listed as an 18 inch and I couldn't find a review for the 16 so I am posting my review here, Sorry if you were looking for a review of the 18 inch model.
The 16 inch model built by craftsman is a very safe machine; It doesn't free wheel like a 2 stroke chainsaw and upon releasing the switch the chain stops. It also has a safety that must be held down before it starts cutting.
Changing the chain is easy and the oiler works good. While the chain tensioner is plastic it does hold the chain well and doesn't slip.
Of course I don't have the space here to explain the in's and outs of chainsaws I will say this chainsaw will last a long time if you keep the cutters sharp and the oil resivore full.
This is a problem on most chainsaws and that is the chain oiler leaks and should be put on an old piece of carpet. The craftsman 16 inch has a clear level that shows the level but the cap has a breather hole; It's so air can displace the oil used and really makes the oiler work well.

Should have known not to buy a Craftsman, but it was on sale for $100 so I thought I'd give it a try. Bought it to cut some timbers we dug out and some small branches. It's the first electric chainsaw I've tried. I figured it wouldn't be very powerful, but it was great for the work I was doing. I was cutting all the timbers for about 20 minutes and was pleased with how it was going. Then the automatic chain lube quit working. Fluid was full but it wasn't working and the chain was getting hot and not cutting. I went online and read sometimes it plugs up so I took it apart, but it didn't seem to be plugged, just not working. When I was putting it back together it occurred to me I've used this for 20 min and it's already having issues. Back to the store it went. Knew it would be cheap due to the price, but was hoping it would work for at least 1 day.

I don't normally write reviews but I wanted to give my feedback on this. I bought it this morning and I was able to cut up a large tree that had fallen in my yard. This was my first time using a chain saw and I did a lot of research and wore safety gear so I felt I was prepared. The great thing was that this was really easy to learn on. There isn't a lot of kickback which is nice (still use caution). I did screw up and got the chain and bar stuck, and I bent it trying to get it out. This was bad as I chipped the bar. But again I am a huge novice so I chalk it up to user error. The good news is that I took it back and sears did a full swap for me as the bar chipped. After the second one I knew more of what I was doing and this thing rocks. My neighbor came over and said he had his doubts when he saw me with an electric chain saw but he was shocked that this thing cut the whole tree. I would recommend to anyone who needs to clean up trees that aren't too huge.

I got this product today in the Morning, of 4/5/13.. I took my Chain Saw and Cut Down a 20' foot Tree. This chain saw handle this job with ease, and very easy to use. The cutting was the best I ever had in Gas ones. A Big plus for this Item is that had Safety and keep the Chain oil and Adjustment of the Chain in Automatic was nice as well. I would give this Product a Big Thank You, and making my work easy.

We wanted a chainsaw that was light weight but with power to remove the trees in our back yard. I was skeptical about an electric but to get it light enough that my wife could also handle then an electric was the only way to go. It cuts like a gas powered saw. Easy to handle. Use a long power cord and it tackled all the trees we needed it to on our acre of land.

I like my first Craftsman 4hp 18 inch chainsaw a lot for the money I paid; So I bought another BUT I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK because the chain bar was not oiling; For exchange. I took the new one out of the box, took the chain & bar OFF and filled full of oil again, this time I taped the trigger ?ON? ran it for a ? hour AND AGAIN NO OIL !!! I was started to put the saw back in the box and poured out most of the oil. (I knew pumps sometimes need to be primed.) So I wipe the oil off the reservoir inlet threads and blew into the reservoir tank while the saw was running; In a few seconds Oil start coming out the bar oiler vent like it should So there is nothing wrong with the saw. I also noticed the sparks from the motor brushes had lessened after running the saw. Hopefully I have a keeper if I got one with a good motor. The Reason I gave 3 stars is because I had to do Sears?s Quality Assurance otherwise this saw would of went back to where I would of switched brands from sears.
