My wife called me at work yesterday and asked me where our staple gun was and I told her and asked her what she was working on. She decided it was time to change the seat cushion in our breakfast area and she was going to change all six chairs with a new fabric. I have an old, standard stapler that, while I'm sure would survive the task, would only serve to make her hands hurt long before she ever completed her task so, I sent her to Sears.
She got home, read the instructions and proceed to make short work of the eight chairs she had to work on! She had told me that of all the tasks she had to perform to complete the project, the one she dreaded most was stapling the material to the seats. When she was finished she changed her mind and said that cutting the material to fit was now the part she dreaded most! Thanks Craftsman and Sears!
I was having a problem finding an electric staple gun that actually worked for more than 25 staples. This Craftsman one was the third one, and there is no comparison to the other 2 brands I tried, which failed to perform. This staple gun works great, is easy to load with the included instructions, it's lightweight and very easy to use. You do need to have an electrical outlet in the vicinity. For me, this was no problem. It has held up great and has withstood the test of time. It's just what you expect from Craftsman.
This thing jambs after shooting 500 staples through it. It has to be held with the head pointing down or it will not feed the staples. The feed spring appears to be way to weak to push the staples forward. I should have saved the packaging so I can return it and tell the store what a piece of junk it is.
I bought this item for the simple task of replacing a jet ski seat cover. It worked for about 5 minutes, then it started to misfire. It would sometimes fire and sometimes not. A few minutes later it wouldn't fire at all, and less than 20% of the task was complete. Took it back but didn't have the receipt, despite the fact that they entered my email address to send me the receipt. They couldn't find any record of me buying the item at that store, and it was only 9 days prior. They made me take an in-store credit on a gift card instead of a refund. So I had to go buy a stapler at another store, because they did not stock the pneumatic stapler I needed. Losing my faith in the great store I grew up in. And in Craftsman.
At first it was fine, but after using it a couple of times I wanted to throw it away! When stapling, the chamber that holds the staples kicks back and comes open. I certainly wouldn't recommend it. I also needed to hammer some staples because they weren't flush with the wood. If it was something I used often it would have been returned immediately, but since I probably won't use it very often and I used reward points and a gift card to buy it I felt it wouldn't be worth the hassle to return it.
