My wife called me at work yesterday and asked me where our staple gun was and I told her and asked her what she was working on. She decided it was time to change the seat cushion in our breakfast area and she was going to change all six chairs with a new fabric. I have an old, standard stapler that, while I'm sure would survive the task, would only serve to make her hands hurt long before she ever completed her task so, I sent her to Sears.
She got home, read the instructions and proceed to make short work of the eight chairs she had to work on! She had told me that of all the tasks she had to perform to complete the project, the one she dreaded most was stapling the material to the seats. When she was finished she changed her mind and said that cutting the material to fit was now the part she dreaded most! Thanks Craftsman and Sears!

At first it was fine, but after using it a couple of times I wanted to throw it away! When stapling, the chamber that holds the staples kicks back and comes open. I certainly wouldn't recommend it. I also needed to hammer some staples because they weren't flush with the wood. If it was something I used often it would have been returned immediately, but since I probably won't use it very often and I used reward points and a gift card to buy it I felt it wouldn't be worth the hassle to return it.

So far this staple/nail gun has worked better than the previous staple/nail gun purchased from Sears. Does not jam staples as the last one did. Have not tried nails yet.

Purchased this item for light upholstery work. Tried several different staples. Never got a staple to totally sink in wood and lay flat. Item seems sturdy, is easy to load, and easy to use.
