I just bought two of these (3/8 and 1/2). And after reading some bad reviews here, I thought I have to find the reason. So I completely disassembled them before I even use them. And here is what I found: Craftsman didn't do any water/weather proof on these wrenches at all! Maybe because they are not in electronics business so they don't have a clue? You have to water/weather proof any electronics you plan to use in a none controlled environment (outdoor/garage). Otherwise, moisture/water will eventually get into it and destroy it! So here is what I did to them: take out the circuit board and conformal coat the whole board (cover up the LCD); when reassemble, use plenty of RTV to seal all the gaps around the electronic box, this will not only water/weather proof it, but also make it much more stronger than the original two screws. I am very happy with the result and pretty sure they will last now.

Always treated this torque wrench with care, rachet head will not hold at 60lb-ft it is stripped out. It goes through batteries too. Sincerely regret buying this, should be happy it lasted a year... Whatever happened to quality? Come one it is one lousy warranty, older digi-torq models had a year warranty and they function! Been buying Crraftsman for 30 years no more Craftsman maybe they misspelled the name...

I do not recommend this product. It is a piece of expensive junk. Had my torque wrench just past 90 days warranty period and lost all torques settings. Called Sears and got transfer to 5 different department with no help. They finally said to bring it back to store. I have a $200.00 piece of junk. I have been Sears customer for over 20 years. They used to sell good products, but now all they sell are junks. No wonder they are loosing business.

The Craftsman Electronic Torque Wrench, 3/8 inch Drive is a great buy. The LED face is large and easy to read. It comes with a certificate of calibration and a box that protects your investment from damage or having to be recalibrated because you dropped it. Perfect most needs!

I used this wrench maybe a dozen or two dozen times over a one year period. When I first bought it, it worked great. A few months later it started doing weird things, turning itself off, false torque readings ect. Now it powers on and says 'ERR' on the screen. DON'T BUY THIS WRENCH! The worst part is it only has a 90 day warranty on it.

Between lawn mower, tractor and auto engine maintenance and repairs, my Craftsman Electronis 3/8 drive wrench has been invaluable, providing me accurate torque settings over the past 10 years! I had worked with and fought cheaper inferior products for 10 years prior, but found this wrench to offer excellent control, positive feedback, solid build quality and great $$$ value.

I've had this tool for approximately one year and during that time it functioned as without any issues. It was only used on four times during that period and was handled with care, never dropped or bumped always placed back in the case with the batteries removed. However, after light use for only a one year period in no longer will power on. I cannot recommend buying this tool.

TICKED off. I purchased this torque wrench for my husband because it was CRAFTSMAN, Craftsman always stands behind their products and replaces defects...NOT...little did I know that it was only under warranty for 90 days, and now after reading the reviews, I completely regret purchasing. Definetly will not by Craftsman again after this. It was an expensive piece of equipment that my husband treated with great care, always in the box, always turned off when done. Now it's doesn't work, isn't under warranty and apparently cannot be repaired, may as well get something mroe reliable). So disappointed.

wrench looks and feels nice. that about it. requires premium batteries to even power on. once powered on the wrench will shut off randomly or fail to warn you at all that you coming close to or have gone passed the set tq spec. if you can baby sit the displace enough to insure it's working properly you'll find your self replacing the batteries after on average a half hours worith of being powered on. weither actually being used or at idle.

Believe the bad reviews, I treated this wrench with great care using it only a handful of times and it lasted less than a year before displaying random numbers when no torque is applied to the wrench (and yes, this is with brand new batteries). Craftsman - Either fix this tools poor design/craftsmanship or stand behind your products for more than 90 days and replace/repair them at your cost .... this tool is a real ****, especially considering the price.
