I use my 1/4 ratchet a lot and this ratchet is better than most of it's competition, but; when I say competition I'm talking about the cheapie throw away stuff that homeowners buy because they only use them occasionally. First, you need the receipt to return it, and second it wears out quickly under heavy use. Really, for just a little more you can get a better Craftsman ratchet with an easier return policy and if you can't afford a good Craftsman ratchet you might as well save even more and get a ************** ratchet since they're even cheaper than the Evolv and have a similar return policy. Also remember, not all Craftsman are made in the USA anymore (the one's that are made in the US are usually engraved as such), and I believe none of the Evolv line are made in the US.

I bought this ratchet for home use so I could leave my other expensive Craftsman 1/4" in my work tool box. That one is more compact and simple and this on is easier for my wife to use when I,m not home. I,v been buying Craftsman tools since I was a kid as they have the best and easiest to use Warranty. It breaks they replace it !!! No waiting for a truck to come around.

These are a good light duty ratchet dor the occasional job around the home, and save you a bit of pocket change compared to buying a higher quality ratchet that you won't use as much. If you will tend to use this for projects that you would be putting a lot of strain on the ratchet, these tend to start sticking on the ratcheting mechanism.

The 1/4-inch drive ratchet is very easy to use and the price is right. The padded grip is comfortable and helps when your hands are a bit sweaty or oily. The small size was of great use negotiating in small spaces. The ratchet has a movable selector on the back of the tool that is very easy to actuate with your thumb. The only negative and a small one is the selector lacks a discernable "click" switching from clockwise rather to counterclockwise ratcheting. Great tool addition to any tool box. I now have to worry about my son borrowing it permanently.
