I bought this drill for my boyfriend a year ago and he loves it. The store was suprised to see someone wanting a corded drill because most of the people want cordless. He hasn't had any problems using it and he loves trying out new projects with this drill. He loved craftsman but didn't know anything about the evolv product of craftsman but the price was right and now I can't get him to put it down

I have been searching for a corded drill and was so happy to find this product at Sears. I am totally opposed to cordless products as the battery life is always extremely short and the battery is never charged when I really need to use the product.

Good for lightweight consumer use but not for heavy duty work, for that get a Craftsman.

Nice trigger sensitivity, works well at all RPM settings. Powerful and feels well built. We will see how it holds up it is made in China.

I picked up a drill mounted chrome rim polishing system and needed an inexpensive drill that has a high RPM rate to polish properly. this drill was cheap and it worked perfectly for that task. it spins quick enough and the variable speed is easy to maintain with the trigger. I havent used it for anything else, but I dont see it having any problems with drilling wood and metal

I am professional mechanic, buy this product for the price, but its performance surprised me, I recommend it for hard work, especially for mechanical technicians, the only drawback is the weight becomes tired with hours of continuous use

Needed a quick replacement for a 22-year old Craftsman drill that finally bit the dust. Figured this would finish the job, but didn't expect much more for this price. I was pleasantly surprised, though. Much lighter than my old metal-gearcase Craftsman - a plus for doing work overhead and in tight places. The torque took me by surprise, it really packs some serious grunt. Spun several 6" drywall-type screws into 4X4 studs, it was like a hot knife through butter. Drilled through 1/4" steel diamondplate in no time. Oak, Maple, and Mahogany were no challege at all. It's the little drill that could. Keyless chucks are not the best choice for serious drilling, where the possibility of binding is high. The drill's torque is more than capable of slipping a bit if you're too agressive. That said, I haven't had any real problems with this chuck so far. If the chuck wears out quickly, I'll replace it with a keyed version - providing the rest of the drill holds up. A couple complaints: -The trigger control is not very precise at the lower speeds, and jumps the screw heads pretty easily. To be fair, this is not the primary purpose of a high-speed drill. Still, it would be nice to have that extra control. -After more than about 1/2 hour of steady drilling, the case begins to heat up to the point you want to let it cool down. No smoke or bad smell, but if I had pushed it I feel there might have been some damage. It's designed only for intermittent duty, which is fine for most home and DIY projects. Overall, excellent value for the price. For occassional use, you can't go wrong.
