I was quite suprised at the build quality for the money. These tools appear to be the same build as regular Craftsman, but without the lifetime warranty. I gave one to each of my sons in college, which should also tell you that I'm pinching every penny. They are very happy with them. We used one of the kits to assemble a futon and had everything we needed. In the process, a couple of other kids came in to borrow a hammer, and another a screwdriver. Definitely on the "need" rather than want list.

If you are renting a house for a month, or have just moved into an apartment, and your entire workshop is in storage or unavailable, this is a perfectly sized set of basic tools for everyday household tasks. It's useful for such things as putting together modular furniture (including a knife to open the box), tightening kitchen cabinet screws, tapping in a picture hook, and all sorts of other mundane tasks. No, you won't be able to build a deck with it, or repair a car, but then that's not what this set is for - Sears has an entire department for that....
