I didn't even have a chance to finish my hedge before the handle snapped off where it's supposed to be adjustable. Even when it was in one piece the adjustment tensioner kept coming loose so I would have to stop and tighten it again.
Save your money and by a static legnth handled shear.

I bought this on line. went to the store pick them up the handle does not extented. I said something to the person that handed it to me. They say well just get your money back. I had drove 20 mile to pick them up and that was the only answer I got.

The very first time I used this I extended the handle and it snapped at the seam. I am returning it and getting the non-extending version.

I got this at a nice discount (for my birthday Sears sends a $10 off coupon for $30 or more purchases, I can't resist, so I bundled this with a lawn mower blade and got it for a nice discount) and for the money it works well. Time will tell. Feels like it'll last for a reasonable length of time, and I do a lot of cutting (wooded trails on a farm). I like the length of the cutting blade, btw.

I bought this shear for my wife and she loves it. The shear is light in weight and sharp, so much so that she can complete her shearing work easily and quickly. The handles on this shear extend enabling my wife to reach farther out and up eliminating the need for a ladder in most cases.

these shears are awesome! they cut through weeds and small branches (about 1 1/2 inch thick) like butter! i am 6ft tall and have bad back from surgery and these are the perfect reach and very comfortable handles. easy and quick adjustments!

I got these as a replacement and couldn't of made a better selection! The extendable handles make it easy for the back end of the hedges and still have good control. The weight is also very managable for trimming the taller bushes. I trust Craftsman integrity and look forward to having them for a long time.

The cutting blade is great and seems to stay sharp. The handles though are not that great. They are to thin and when extended out you can only cut very small thin items or the handles will bend on you. Great tool from the fact that you can exchange it when and if it bends on ya being a Craftsman tool.
