These are great for placing between a socket and extension to give you something to grip when threading on a nut or bolt. You can leave it in place during the remainder of your ratcheting but they do not have a locking mechanism to keep it securely attached to the socket. These are not ratcheting mechanisms so don't be misled. They are only knurled attachments to help you turn sockets more easily. It you have socket sets with knurled ends these are overkill. The 1/4" & 3/8" adapters are great but I absolutely don't get the 1/4" male by 1/4" hex bit adapter at all since I will never drive a socket with a 1/4" hex bit. If it were a 1/4" female by 1/4" hex bit adapter I could see it being useful since it would allow you to ratchet drive standard hex bits. You could use it to turn 1/4" hex screwdriver style bits but what good is a 1/4" male socket end sticking up in your palm of your hand going to do for you. This is obviously something Craftsman threw in the package to make it look like you are getting more to justify the cost or a clever way for a designer that made a huge mistake by specifying male instead of female when ordering from the tool supplier. The real deal would have been to include a 1/2" adapter exactly like the other two so you would cover all three normal sizes from 1/4 to 3/8 to 1/2" With that said I got the set for half price and am happy with the two normal sizes and will allow the absolutely useless one that I described to collect some serious dust. The only thing I will say is that I do not recommend you pay full price for this set since one item is useless. If you get it for less then buy it. If you already have knurled sockets then don't even think about it.

      UM.....not very great engineering.
First off, I own quite a bit of Craftsman tools, they are pretty good for the most part. BUT....this tool in poorly designed in my opinion. The components are actually good quality. The shaft that holds the socket/bits is sturdy and I could see it holding up to a lot of torque....probably last a long time. The knurled ring that goes around the shaft is also sturdy, easy to grip and has great knurling. Here is the problem.....both the grip and the shaft do not have a locking fit. Yes......both are round and the only thing that keeps the shaft ring from turning on the shaft is GLUE..........WTF???? I took this tool home and tried it........THE RING STARTED SLIPPING ON THE SHAFT. No, I did not apply a ton of torque. Craftsman should have used the same design, BUT they should have used a locking fit. Pretty dumb engineering if you ask me.

      nice addition to toolbox

These are great for for tight spaces or to just get threads started. It's nice that you can attach the ratchet or extension without having to remove this tool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great hand tools - perfect for gifting

I have used these many times being stuck in a situation where you don't have a lot of room and need extra grip on a socket. The knurls make the socket easier to grip and get more torque on. Stop straining your fingers - use these instead.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Seems Useful

I have not had a chance to use these yet, but upon inspection they seem well built and durable. I really like the idea of the 1/4" male to 1/4" female so I can either start or finish with a ratchet, but I don't understand the idea behind the 1/4" female hex fittings on the other two.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Finger Grip Socket Adapter, 3 Pk.

The Craftsman Finger Grip Socket Adapter, 3 Pack provides an easy way to screw & unscrew bolts using sockets & other bits. They are small enough for easy access to tight spots.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Good Quality

These adapter feel well made. They were heavier than I expected, so I hope that translates into a well made product. I have not had a need to used them yet, but two features I like. First, they are color coded, which will make identifying them in the future easier. Second, the etching on the edge gives a good grip. Overall pleased, and would suggest to a friend.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Nice but odd

These work very well, but its odd that the 3/8 adapter is not like the 1/4 adapter. The 1/4 adapter has a square receiver so you can connect your ratched directly to it to break a bolt free or give the last little snug. But the 3/8 adapter has a hex receiver. Very odd. And the third one is a hex to 1/4 adapter. Not sure that I'd ever need that one unless I loose the regular 1/4 adapter.
