Craftsman  Front Brush Guard

NICE ADDITION TO AN EXCELLENT MOWER. IT REALLY DOES PROTECT THE MOWER AND IT LOOKS GREAT.

Bought this with my 26 hp Kohler yard tractor and the 3 bin bagger, both came delivered to my house attached to the tractor and ready to go. It looks great on there and accents the tractor very nice and gives it a more rugged look, seems it would hold up to some wear and tear, thought I hope I never need it. The fold down part seems to work pretty good so far as well, so it give easy access to opening the hood. So far a great quality product.

I purchased this brush guard for my YT4000 and love it. It's pretty easy to put on, and it looks awesome. It definitely dresses up the tractor and makes it look rugged. It's worth the money to protect the front of the tractor.....

tad bit more $$ than the other bumpers but worth it. the tilt down part works great and it's a really sturdy part and pretty strong and will do what it was designed for

I have owned two previous yard tractors that did not have a guard on the front.  I did not know any better at the time.  Both of those tractor eventually suffered damage to the front covers from pushing the limits and bumping into things.  The guard is a great way to prevent this from happening.  Additionally, it provides an extra location to tie onto for pulling objects or the tractor when it gets stuck.  I would recommend purchasing a guard of some type.  (I bought mine on sales and got an additional discount for purchasing on a friends and family night.  It ended up costing me the same price as the regularly priced single bar guard.)

functionally this guard bends down to allow the tractor hood to open very nicely. However; the foam rubber end peices are not designed very well to stay affixed (glued on) After 3 months ownership................guard installed by Sears...............the brush guard 24628.......rubber end cap left side slipped off .....fell on the lawn and I ground it up with the mower unintentionally as I did not see it fall in time......................... I have a 3year extended warranty on my mower.............but Sears informs me that there is nothing else I can do except to leave off the rubber part or to purchase a new guard.................obviously .I am not very pleased and this has left a bad taste in my mouth. My wife bought this mower w/ accessories for about $2,300.00.....................staff in Janesville Wisconsin was very nice to me during the sale.................but would not touch the rubber tip falling off the brush guard as this was just an accessory not the main tractor itself. The brush guard is almost a requirement for a new lawn mower.  Many of the new mower just have plastic hoods now so you need something to protect the hood.  We have a lot of ever greens on our property and the brush guard does a good job of protecting the mower.  The ends of the guard are a flexible rubber which protect objects if you get to close to them with the mower.

Installing the guard took a bit longer than expected.  To bolt the guard to the frame of the tractor was more difficult than expected.  It wasn't physically hard but trying to hold the bolt in place while trightening the nut in a very limited space proved a bit tough.  I spent about 40 minutes installing the guard.

Over all I believe it to be a very important investment to protect the mower.
