The good: easily replaced old unit that broke after 16 years of use. Works well and is fairly smooth and quiet. The bad: Is not backwards compatible with my old "grey button" remotes on my other door. Universal remotes are extremely overpriced, 3 remotes would cost more then the opener. VERY disappointed in this aspect.

This opener replaced our old one from 1998 that died on us and model was discontinued. Purchased this brand thru my home warranty company and can't believe how affordable and QUIET it is compared to our old one. I purchased this to replace the craftsman opener I had put in 17 years prior. I was very pleased that 1) it fit into the old system perfectly (thus did not need to rewire, or update the chain and rod), 2) it is very quiet and 3) it has a motion sensitive light that helps in getting to and from vehicles in the garage. Definitely an improved design to it's predecessor yet form, fit and function are identical! Very happy with it.
