Product Description

Loosen Tough, Compacted Soil with the Craftsman Lawn Aerator

Revitalize your lawn with the Craftsman core aerator. The universal aerator attaches to the back of any brand lawn, garden or yard tractor so you can aerate soil quickly with minimal effort. The core aerator pulls narrow plugs from the lawn up to 3 inches deep, loosens compact soil and prepares lawns for spring and fall planting. A properly aerated lawn helps water and nutrients reach deeper into the soil. Roots will grow deeper and stronger, and you'll have a healthier, lush lawn as a result.

The Craftsman lawn aerator rejuvenates tough, compacted soil like clay, areas that receive heavy foot traffic or lawns damaged by drought. Constructed of heavy galvanized soil, the aerator has an enclosed weight tray that can support up to 100 pounds of ballast to cut through heavily compacted lawns. The 10- by 4-inch wheels roll smoothly over rough terrain, and the 24 coring points are easy to raise and lower via a convenient handle.

NOT A BAD AERATOR. GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF ONE
Over all I have to give this thing 5 stars. I bought mine boxed and it was not that difficult to put together. It took about an hour. The one thing I was concerned about that no one mentioned in any other reviews or on the video online was how well did it hold up turning. It turns out I had no problems. I pulled it behind my zero turn mower. I do think it is best to use earily spring or late fall when the ground is nice and soft obviously. I had 2 tube sand bags from my truck on top of it. I think the main thing to remember is you dont need to go fast. take it slow and steady. It says it is commercial quality but even commercial equipment isnt meant to be thought of as indistructive. I still didnt make any 90 degree turns when I came to the end of my yard. make it a 3 or 4 point turn. This way there will be minimum stress on the tines. I guess my only complaint would be since it is a once and done until the end of the season piece of equipment, I would like to see grease fittingsfor the axel on the tines. I know I am probably a little too meticulus, but all of my other equipment gets a hose down and regrease after every use. For the price, if I get 2 or 3 seasons with a spring and fall pull out of it I will be satisfied and buy another one. So go out and get one, and remember slow and steady, watch tree roots (go over them slowly), sprinkeler heads, in ground dog fences, and tight turns, clean it up when your done, try to spray some white lithium grease on the tine axel and it should last a while.

Unhappy with purchase!
Purchased this aerator in hopes that it would save me from having to rent aerators on a yearly basis as I own a local lawn service. Purchased on sale for $159.88 at my local Sears store. This item appeared to be very sturdy and built well. So I purchased it. No matter how much weight I put on it, I could not get plugs to be any more than half inch max plugs. This after watering yard and adding 180 lbs at one point. It was hard to even tell that the yard had been aerated. I will be returning to Sears tomorrow. Not a happy customer!! Next time I will try it before buying it!

Does the job

Took a little time to put together but instructions made sense and were easy to follow. Just don't expect to take out of the box working, take your time and follow the steps. I used the cardboard from the packaging to sit under some cinder blocks so it doesn't scratch and it worked well. May need to go over the lawn twice but I was happy with the strength and job it did.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Does good job of tri-core aeration.

Load it up with 2 or 3 solid cement blocks and cut pieces of 2x4 to jam blocks tight so they don't slide around. Do after good rain as soon as not muddy. Don't try steep or uneven areas--my lawn tractor would spin tires when I did. I have to get off tractor seat to raise or lower wheels when loaded with blocks. Do not cross hard surface without lowering wheels or you dull coring heads. Hose off including cleaning dirt out of coring heads before storing. It paid for itself in two uses compared to renting walk-behind unit which vibrates your hands carpel tunnel badly.

Very Good

This worked very well. It's well built and heavier than expected. Everything went together easily. The tray is large enough to place lots of weight. Use after a rain when the soil is soft, and this thing pops nice deep plugs. The spacing is a bit wide between spindles but with two passes over the yard it looked great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Quality Drainage Assistant

Immediately after using this product, and after it rained, we definitely noticed our lawn wasn't as soggy as before! We then seeded the lawn, and then fertilized it. Our lawn is looking and feeling better than ever, with grass growing after 2 weeks/

Works Perfect (when lawn is moist)

I strap a small block on the top and aerate after the thaw. It is like natures fertilizer! Tines can plug if too wet and wont penetrate if too dry.

Good product

I bought this as a gift for my husband so he could aerate our lawn before reseeding for grass seed. It took a bit to assemble it but once assembled, it looked great and you can tell it is built very well and is very sturdy. They could have designed the handle lever a bit better but other than that, it is a great piece.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lawn Aerator

Great buy for the money!! Just add about 5 cinder blocks to the top and this inexpensive aerator works great from a small pull behind tractor. I have had this for 2 years now and my Lawn is reaping the benefits.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
