I bought this Online as a new item. When I went to pick it up it came out assembled for another tractor and had missing mounting brackets for my tractor with a couple of scratches( Obviously either a display product or a return item. When I complained Sears made it right by giving me a discount and ordering the parts that were missing and shipping them to me. Overall the Design is good hasn't changed for about fifty years and with a little grease on the pivot & proper locations with adjustment operates fairly smoothly. Handle mechanism that moves the blade is somewhat clunky. You would have thought in fifty years they would have redesigned it or designed optional actuators to move it. Thats ok I'll eventually change it for myself.. Craftsman brand sticker was upside down apparently is dislexic. I'll have to cut about an inch off of each end of the blade to get it through a walk gate I have in the winter. They should sell something shorter than 42" we don't all live on a farm..
Not acceptable for more than a couple inches of dry snow. Blade is too light so it bounces a lot. I have it on a Craftsman PYT9000 tractor and the tractor spins and slides around a lot, even with chains. Really not to impressed with the tractor either. Next tractor will be a **********.
Anyone know why the blade will not stay locked in the "up" postion? I don't see any broken parts that would prevent this operation. Seems a few other people have the same problem.
Love the plow. Wish it snowed more. Only hiccup on installation was I put wrong bracket on. The ease of how it goes on and off is great, pull pin and lifts off. No bolting every season. Never had issue with traction pushed 5-6 inches of snow got stuck once. Driveway 200' long large turnaround near house. Great purchase.
I have a long gravel driveway and wanted a way to clear snow. I was quite disappointment that even though it was installed by Sears, it still did not rotate from side to side. Also, you will need chains just to move in the snow more less push snow. I have returned the product.
i bought this 3 years ago and i could not be happier. it was a little hard to install but worth it i use it to plow my long driveway and works just like a full size plow on a smaller scale the only thing i had to do was get chains for the tires this set up sure beats a snow blower
