I tossed it around about getting a snow blower as the winters here in NJ seem to be getting worse. I opted to go with the snow blade because I already had the craftsman ride on lawn tractor. I'm glad I did. We just had a storm with about 9 inches of snow and although I didn't let it get higher than 4 inches without going out there, it plowed it great. I have a 40ft. Double driveway and it was done so quickly and tirelessly. It took about two hours to install though and I consider myself mechanically inclined. Highly recommend. I will invest in tire chains eventually as the wheels slipped from time time, but only after the temperature dropped a lot.
I've had an 16hp craftsman tractor with snow blade for about 15years I live up in New England we've had the worst winter ever, my driveway is huge the tractor and blade are unbelievable this year the first storm dumped up to 22 inches of snow once I made the first path I was golden the transmission and the kohler motor works great tractor and blade definitely a great buy

Without a heavy tractor and wheel chains, this does not push the heavy snow. It seems well made, but requires a much heavier / powerful rider. Even when the wheels didn't slip, the rider just stopped after about 4 feet of pushing. I was afraid the transmission would blow, so I returned the blade.

I have had this through 4 storms and it works great. I've used it to clear over a foot of snow at a time. I hardly even use my snow blower since I got this blade. Took about 2 hours to put together but well worth the time.
I've got this on a 24hp craftsman lawn tractor with just chains. So far I got two storms here and it did good. The first time was a heavy slush and cleared the stuff. The storm we got today I pushed about 6-7 inches. You have to not load up on what you are pushing. Definitely have to find out what you can get away with. The whole design on raising the blade and turning could be better. To drop it you have to work at it sometimes. Instead of lubricating the linkage as they suggest I goop it up with waterproof grease. Big difference. I also gooped up the pivot point too. If you break the cable as many have done, a dog's lead like the kind you let your dog running on works great, heavy cable and a lot cheaper. Same basic size and has a plastic sheath. Putting it together?? Well if you can read and distinguish what tool is which it isn't hard. Will it replace my 10hp snow blower in the deep stuff, no to point but so far it held it's own. I got it for $200 on sale and so far with my busted ACL, torn rotor cuffs and assorted creaks it was well worth it.
I have only used it twice and I had to make adjustments both times to the pull cable that allows you to move it left or right. it is not very easy to lift or move for that matter. had I known how much of a pain it would be I would have gotten a different tractor.
I recently purchased this item to use with my lawn tractor during the winter months. I removed the deck and installed the snaw blade. It seems sturdy and easy to use but it comes with many parts to put together which could be challenging for anyone not mechanically inclined. So far we have not had any sigfnificant snow this year in South Jersey, so I can not attest yet as it's effectiveness. I will post again once I get to use it. After all, the proof is in the pudding!
