Good Flashlight
This Craftsman flashlight is a good light. I've used in daily in my work as a Commercial Aviation Mechanic. The light is very bright, and it is not big and bulky. It is more than adequate to see into all of those nooks and cranies on the airplanes that I work on. The only complaint that I have is that by placing the on/off button on the side of the flashlight, the light often turns on without my knowledge whenever I slide them into a special side pocket in my coveralls. This special pocket in my coveralls is not tight to the body of the flashligt, yet I've found that it is not that difficult to turn the flashlight on by accident. That can lead to a lot of extra battery usage. Some other flashlights have the on/off button located on the bottom of the flashlight. That would be a great design change. I realize that most people are not slipping the flashlight into their special coverall side pockets, so the button on the side will work out just fine. However, this minor issue is something to consider if you intend to use the flashlight in a similar situation as mine. Over all though, I would still recommend this flashlight for general use.

fantastic up until it stopped working

I've used this flashlight for over a year and was very happy with the purchase until a few days ago.

This thing puts out a lot of very bright white light and is very easy on batteries - and by easy I mean incredibly easy, I got over a year on one set of 6 AAAs.  This flashlight is not what I would consider compact, but it is definitely small considering the light it puts out - color me impressed.  It has 2 light settings and there is very minimal difference between them.

The beam cannot be focussed.  It throws out a lot of light around the beam.  The on/off button on the side is a PITA.  It is recessed in the side of the flashlight and not easy to find in the dark by feel (even though you know right where it is) and I have never been able to turn it on when wearing gloves.

Now the bad, the flashlight fell out of my jacket pocket a few nights ago when walking the dog.  It landed on its side with no visible exterior damage to the flashlight save for a small nick in the case near the bottom - but the flashlight will no longer turn on.  The flashlight feels sturdy and given the craftsman name/reputation I had much higher expectations for how rugged it would be.  I know that I dropped it, but as this was the first time I was surprised it didn't turn back on.

A total buy

I live East Africa and this light is an excellent one to have if: 1) lights go out and you want to light a room (it stands straight up); 2) want a concentrated bright beam; 3) want a handy, light-weight light for the car or hiking. I had a Dorcy and this light was way brighter and more importantly, the battery life lasted WAY longer. Figure that one out!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good value and quality

I am a homeowners claims adjuster and needed a bright, sturdy, easily portable flashlight. This flashlight fit the bill. It is solid and sturdy and very bright. This was exactly what I needed. I use it on a daily basis in all conditions. It has held up for several months. I would certainly purchase again.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Super bright

I purchased this LED flashlight for my son for Christmas last year.. It is super bright and the batteries will last at least 10 times longer than in a standard flashlight. It is solidly built and has a metal casing. Because it is LED the bulb will also last much longer than one in a standard flashlight.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Handy little light

I got this light about a year ago and have been very happy with it. It has good battery life and puts out a lot of light. I would recommend this light to anyone looking for a good small light. I like to keep it in my car as it comes in very handy. I realy like the hi low settings that it has.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very nice flashlight... until it stopped working!

This was just the flashlight I was looking for.  Very bright LED flashlight and just the right size.  After owning it for less than one year, I accidently dropped it on my patio from a height of about 2 feet.  It completely stopped working.  Very disappointed.  This flashlight is very delicate and not up to Craftsman quality.

Great flashlite. I own two, but they do not work now. The battery holder is very weak. It broke when installing the batteries.  The plastic is very weak

Fragile, but very bright

This is a very light duty flashlight.

If you drop it 2inches above the ground it will stop working.

I have been through 3 already, mainly becuase I love Craftsman and keep giving them chances to redeem their brand.

This light only has a 1yr warranty, so far 2 of my 3 were warranty replaced.

It is bright, I love that, it is nice to hold, feels good in the hand, not cheap.

But better suited for household functions, not outdoor work.

We keep this one on the mantle for power outages or to check on the kids at night, I wish I could use it at work, but I tend to drop things and this one will not stand up to my job.

Great light

I got mine a couple years ago and do not regret my purchase. No, it does not have an adjustable focus, but it's one bright, solid, general purpose light. The removable battery holder is well-made (The metal seems to be nickel-plated so it's not aluminum) and has survived batteries that had leaked and corroded. A key ring can be solidly attached to it's bottom allowing you to hang it from your belt with a carabiner clip. The housing is made of aluminum, but it's threads are large and will not easily strip. The rubber button and switch still function as new. I expect to get many more years of service from this light.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 160 lumen, not to bad when it works.

At first the light was great it lite up the night like it was day. After about 2 weeks of service I would have to shake the light to make it come on. After a time or two of doing this I decided to investigate. I found that the spring on the back of the light which applys pressure towards the front of the light to keep the battery "pack" tight was wearing out. Now 4 months have passed and the spring is pretty much shot. I have resorted to removing the spring and placing it in backwards, which makes it work alot better for the time being.
