Product Description

Craftsman’s Long Handle Digging Shovel Cuts through the Dirt

Featuring a serrated round point blade constructed of heavy duty 14-guage steel, this shovel penetrates hard, compacted soil fast. Equipped with a patented power step on top of the blade, it provides a secure foot placement so your work boots don’t slip and you can drive the shovel deep without much work.

Made of steel-reinforced fiberglass, the handle provides serious leverage and light weight, while the chrome ferrule delivers the strongest head-to-handle connection on the market. Equipped with a foam cushion grip, it helps fight fatigue and reduces vibrations while digging, making hours of work more comfortable. A tough shovel, proudly made in the USA, stock your shed with this Craftsman, and cut through the dirt.

  • 14-guage heavy-duty blade always gets the job done
  • Serrated round point penetrates the toughest soils
  • Fiberglass handle with steel reinforcement delivers extra digging leverage
  • Made in USA

This is Craftsman Quaity
I love this shovel. It has the large areas for your foot when digging, that makes it an easy tool to use. I have even loaned it to my neighbor who loved it and wants to buy one. If only all Craftsman tools were still built this good.

Weak Handle - Great Blade
I needed a shovel for digging an irrigation ditch and the blade design with large step platform was perfect. However, the handle is insanely weak and snaps immediately if pushed. I've broken 2 of them and the first time using the 3rd already cracked the handle. Lifetime warranty is needed.

works well

this one actually works the way a shovel should. Having puchased 3 shovels in the last 6 months, was finally glad to find one with some heft to it. And the lifetime guarantee doesn't hurt either.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Couldn't ask for more!

I have never used a better shovel. I broke the handle but it wasn't easy and it was definitely abuse. I used it to dig fence posts and remove stumps from rocky soil. The best shovel I've used till this one was a caterpillar brand with a nupla handle and my craftsman far exceeded th caterpillar shovel. I would definatly purchase another.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Wood handle is superior.

If you're doing a serious all day shoveling job (like nobody does anymore), well, the fiberglass handle just does not compare to a full diameter hardwood handle. The diameter of the handle down where you grab with your left hand (if you're right handed) is sized too small to twist the shovel like you often do when you're throwing dirt. Also, prying a little (only as would normally be done) doesn't give one a feeling of confidence. It feels like it's going to snap. Last, the rubber grip works loose. It's not a gross failure as if it slid off or something, but it creeps enough to be annoying. Also, on that grip, you can feel the square end of the fiberglass tube underneath, even through gloves. Give me a nicely rounded hardwood handle any day As for the spade part, no complaints yet. Looks nice where you'd jump on it to break sod deep, like when spading a new garden. I don;t know if those scallops at the point are helping or if they just make you feel good.

Nice Shovel

I bought the CraftsmanLong Handle Digging Shovel for some yard projects and general outdoor use and this is a nice little shovel. I like the cleats on the back of the spade to allow you to have better force when you are digging and these also make it easier due to more better footing. The fiberglass handles are strong and I don't have to worry about splinters in my hands. The shovels are stamped "Made in USA" and the spades seem to be pretty heavy duty and the serated edge assist in easier digging in harder ground. These shovels come with a lifetime warranty which I did not know existed on shovels, which is comforting, should I ever need to use it. From what I have used it so far, this seems to be a solid shovel and I hope that Craftsman continues to sell yard tools like this. The only drawback I see, is that I don't have anymor excuses not to start on my yard projects for my wife :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.
