Good Torque Wrench
I need a torque wrench occasionally, as I do repairs on my vehicle occasionally where a torque wrench is handy, this was on sale (%50 off retail - $40), so I bought it. Setting it is easy and it is easy to use. Only thing I would recommend...if you need to set it for lighter torques, try it something else, so you can get used to the very light clicks on light torques...otherwise you may over-torque something.

1/2 inch torque wrench - craftsman not what it used to be
After 4 uses over the course of 6 months, the cheap plastic "lock" broke. I returned to the store, tool in hand only to find out that the "lifetime" warranty on hand tools does not apply to torque wrenches. (while I understand calibration would not be warrantied, breakage should be). Of course I didn't have my receipt (I've never needed one in the past for craftsman lifetime warranty). Sears isn't helping itself stay in business with these types of policies and cheap Chinese made tools.

not bad!!! saw other reviews saying how bad this wrench is. but used for 20 times. no problems @ all. maybe those people either got it DOA or don't know how to take of new tools.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

1/2" drive torque wrench

easy to use 1/2" dr torque wrench, previous model of this torque had a latching re-usable storage case to protect it. this model has an open top box that tool will fall out of.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

1/2 MicroTork Torque Wrench Garbage

If you're thinking about buying this and plan on actually using it, than look elsewhere. This torque wrench is made very cheap. First 1 I had broke after a light fall on the ground (plastic handle). It had the warranty, and surprisingly I was given a brand new one. Second one I was using to torque wheel lugs down applying only 80 ft./lbs. When it stopped ratcheting. Took it back to sears and was denied another one, but was given a "discount" to buy another one. Why would I want another one if it is just going to break again? Very dissatisfied on this product. I feel sorry for the people who pay $70 for it, I only paid $40 for it and I'm mad that it broke.

Craftsman - Not What it Used to Be

This is the third Craftsman torque wrench I've purchased over the last 15 years. The first two were presumably made in America, even though based on the outcome of a 2004 class action lawsuit, that's questionable. In any case, this one is clearly made in China and nowhere near the quality of the first two. Even the "so called" case is a joke. You have to use a screwdriver to attach the top! The fit and finish are very average and the plastic handle and lock collar appear fragile. I don't often need a 1/2" torque wrench and use it primarily to tighten wheel lug nuts and suspension components. For the price, I paid $69, I think it's a good deal, but if I needed a wrench to use on a routine basis, I'd definitely look elsewhere. You get what you pay for, and as far as torque wrenches go, $69 is cheap.

Junk

These were on sale, so I bought a few for the shop. The first one failed within a week. The next one was dead about a month later and the last died about 2 months after purchase. All 3 failed in the same way. The handle gets loose and slides up and down a half inch so you have no idea what torque it is set to. I have had the old ones with an all black handle around for 13 years and none of them have ever failed. These are just junk and Sears should be embarrassed to put the craftsman name on them.

Wonderful TQ wrench

Sears was SALE-ing these @ $39.99 so I decided to purchase one from their website and pick it up in-store. I already have an in/lbs 3/8" wrench and wanted a 1/2" ft/lbs.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
