Micro-Clicker Torque Wrench must tool for do-it-yourself.

Smaller settings are essential for proper maintenance (spark plugs, smaller bolts, etc.)  These are fairly easy to read.  Clicker works fine at light settings.

Horrible cheap chinese junk
Broke the first time i used it, it started free wheeling after the 4th bolt at only 28 ftlbs of tq. Then it would only work in reverse. Huge chunk of garbage they need to start making in them USA.

Nice

I bought this at a great discount. I was a little worried about it as I bought a 1/2 drive torque wrench from sears that was not very good. This seems to be great. It has a nice feel, the head is not loose like on the 1/2 drive, and is accurate. I tested it against my friends snap on that was just calibrated and they were the same.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love this torque wrench

I love this great torque wrench. It is very easy to dial the torque specifications. The wrench is large enough for those tough jobs that require a lot of leverage.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Made in china,no left-hand thread operation,90 day warranty, inferior case.

I bought this to fill in my set of Craftsman torque wrenches. I was unimpressed by the supplied case for a "precision tool" and the fact that is was (to later find out) manufactured in China was VERY disappointing. No "left hand" measurement operation is another ding on the use of the tool. I choose my quality tools from Snap-On, Mac, Matco and Craftsman and this one concerns me. I can buy Chineesium when accuracy and quality aren't so much an issue, but wouldn't knowingly on a tool of this type....Disappointed would be my overall opinion.

Looks and feels like a Craftsman, but doesn't perform like one

Thought I was getting a great deal at 50% off. The wrench looks and feels well built. However, on the first attempt to set the torque to 20 ft lbs (the lowest setting is 10 ft lbs), noticed the grip was loose and moved freely up and down. The cap at the bottom of the grip even popped off. Obviously I didn't check the wrench until I got home or I would have saved a trip back to the store. Taking a chance that it was a rare dud, I returned it for another. Checked it out at the store, and it seemed to work fine while setting the torque. I used it recently and it seems to work fine. Time will tell. Unfortunately, this wrench doesn't come with the Craftsman lifetime warranty like many of their non-specialty tools. You even have to pay for re-calibration after a year.

Decent wrench at a decent price

I bought this wrench at my local Sears while it was on sale for $40. It works just fine, and if I had the need to replace it at the same price, I would do so. I was a little wary after reading some of the reviews, especially on poor calibration. Though I haven't checked the calibration directly, I've checked this wrench against a couple others (both more expensive and less expensive) and they all read within a couple ftlbs of each other. Keep in mind that clicker torque wrenches aren't accurate on the low end of the range. Anything less than 15ftlb's (20% of maximum) is not going to be accurate on this wrench. At those low torques I go by feel, but if I wanted to use a torque wrench, I'd drop to an inch pound wrench. That's a general rule for torque wrenches (no less than 20% of max), and the manual for this one mentions it. On to my few gripes: 1) The lock ring and twist grip are plastic and feel flimsy. The twist grip has a funky groove pattern on it that doesn't seem to offer a whole lot of functionality. I'd prefer a simple, all-metal, knurled handle for good grip and no need to worry about exposure to solvents. 2)The manual states that the wrench should not be used for loosening fasteners, so why they made this wrench with a bi-directional ratchet head is beyond me. 3)The plastic tray that the wrench comes in is sturdy and functional, but the clear plastic cover for it is awful. It's flimsy and it doesn't snap on to the tray... there are six screws that hold it in place. Not a big deal sitting in my tool chest, but an annoyance if I want to bring the wrench anywhere. Bottom line: For $40 this is a decent wrench. Be sure you understand the limitations--this wrench will not work for every fastener.. I'd happily buy another one for $40, maybe even a little more than that. If I had to pay full retail, however, I'd probably save my pennies and get a better wrench with some additional features... though that would cost about 3 times as much as this tool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Solid reliable and accurate

Solid quality product. I used it on my ending rebuild and the settings were accurate and easy to set. Some may complain on craftsman being manufactured in China. I really don't care as long as they honor their lifetime warranty, which they always do. Great wrench and tools!
