I upgraded to the digital readout micrometer a few years ago to make it easier for my aging eyes to read measurements to ten thousandths. I am glad i did. I used a standard Craftsman micrometer with the vernier scale for a couple of decades. Held its accuracy well over time (in production environments measuring tools must be checked for accuracy yearly). But it was getting harder to read the vernier scale. The (mechanical) digital display solved that problem. I found myself checking the vernier to see if the display was correct when I first starting using this micrometer. I finally stopped because I never found an error. If you absolutely, positively have to know the dimensions of a part, this is the tool for you. "Sacramento" Bruce Conklin

I decided to complete my Craftsman tool set with one of these and so far I am very happy with it. The first thing I measured with it was about as close to exact as you can get, and the digital display was east to read. It is very easy to use and the storage case does not take up much room in my tool chest. A battery is not required so you can use it off and on without having to be concerned about a dead battery.

For my purposes, it does the job intended in a reliable and accurate manner. The digital display provides easy reading of measurements. I could have spent alot more money and gotten the same results.
