Great for the home and around the shop

The Craftsman Multi - Meter is great for most diagnostic duties around the home and around the shop. I purchased this meter after my last meter just was not being consistant and bit the dust, but it was just a cheapy anyway. I use this meter for general diagnostics when working on four wheelers & off road buggies & it does great for my general needs. I also use it for issues that may arise in the home. Me and my son use it while we work on his project car, which has a lot of electrical issues, to say the least. I like the rubber case and has saved me a time or two, when I dropped it on the floor. I blew one fuse one time due to my fault, but all I had to do was go to Sears & they have theses little fuses in stock and was easy to change, in just a few seconds. The leads are long enough for most general testing and I use aligator clips on the lead end of the ground, so that I don't have to have two hands tied up, holding leads while testing. I also use this multi meter for checking continuity while in the resistance mode, for testing if a circuit has a break or not. I use this multi meter pretty regularly & only had to change the battery once in about a year's time. If you select the proper mode for whatever you are testing & plug the leads in correctly, this little meter, should be just fine for standard dianostics and it is priced to where anybody can have a reliable meter.

These Craftsman meter are not accurate at all
I am an automotive technician and voltage range from .2mV to V matters a whole lot. I compared this unit and the other expensive model craftsman meter to a $250 dollar PDI unit and wow was these meter way off, about .8v-1.1v. I measured voltage from a circuit board that was 12v regulated. This unit and the other Craftsman unit measured 13.1v on a regulated 12v circuit so 1.1v is a lot. If I were to measure a battery and it was dead(12.3v) and it measured 13.1v then I will assume its fine, but in reality its a dead battery due to an inaccurate meter. I give a major thumbs down for accuracy, but a thumbs up for features. Avoid these craftsman meter at all cost. If price is a factor I recommend the Actron units, they are more accurate than any Craftman at any price. I measured them against the PDI unit and they were ~ .01v off; not bad for low price units.

Autoranging Multimeter is a great value

As an engineer and technician for more than 30 years it is good to see a meter of good quality at a very reasonable price. This meter has what you need for routine testing of most electrical and electronic components including temperature in Celsius or Farenheit with the available accessory thermocouple probe. The meter is accurate and quick responding and I have purchased two as gifts.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Can't beat it for home use

I am an aircraft mechanic and have had a couple Fluke professional meters over the years. I wanted a meter for home but wanted it to be affordable. The Craftsman multimeter has been super for a fraction of the cost of a Fluke. Mine has been accurate and reliable. the soft rubber case has provided excellent protection. My son is studying computer repair and has used it diagnosing problems in circuits (my kids tend to make my professional tools disappear so I didn't want to let him have my expensive meter). The Craftsman meter has worked perfectly in this repair application as well.

Get out your magnifiying glass

I bought this because it's physical size is closer to the size of my 4 year old craftsman multimeter that just gave out. The first time I used it I knew the display was much smaller than it looked through the packaging. I guess I will have to return it for the bulker meter with the larger display.

Craftsman multimeter is a good value for the money.

Bought this because I need to have an easy to use multimeter to learn how to troubleshoot electrical issues and test conductivity.  The display is easy to read and the instructions give enough direction that I  can learn while also getting results.  The auto off feature is handy since I've gotten used to many things in life going into hibernate or sleep or auto off and unfortunately not all of the Craftsman multimeters do go off automatically.  This should be a battery saving investment for me.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very Durable Meter

This meter is much more durable than some of the other brands out there. I have used it in many rough situations and it still comes out on top. Its so nice to be able to just toss it in the toolbag and not have to worry about cracking the display ripping off a lead. Great meter

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice compact multi meter

Nice compact meter.  Have used for 2-3 years without issues.  battery life could be longer, but not bad.  The Red plastic case isn't as flexible as the high end meters but it gets the job done.  I would buy another.
