Circles, or not...

Why I never bought this before is beyond me!  First, it makes for a great wy to hold on to and steady the router but, beyond that it makes routing so much easier for all sorts of jobs, not just circles!  If you have a Craftsman router, then this accessory is second only to bits!

Only fits Craftsman router models with 6" subbase

Does not fit my Craftsman Router, Model No. 135.1708.  Screw holes DO line up, but mounting guide protrussions meant to contact outside edge of housing and help center sub-base prevent flush mount.  My 1708 sub-base has 6-1/2" diameter, while this attachment has 6" diameter subbase.  So- close, yet so far.

I can't speak to performance, since I could not attach it.

Doesn't work with Plunge base

I bought this for the 3 base combo set (Model# 28084) and it fits the fixed bases but not the plunge base. Besides that, it works like it should. It isn't overbuilt but if you use it correctly it shouldn't be a problem. It has many uses.

NICE jig for the price

I bought this for a fixed-base Craftsman router, which is the workhorse of my three others. I DID note it specifically said for Craftsman routers, and having had difficulty matching Sears to other brands in the past....nuff said. Fearlessly cut circles first time out. You can also use it as a straight guide, IMHO it beats the knickers off the competition at this. What it REALLY excels at is odd shapes. If this fit universally I would have given it a 5 star.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

if your router's baseplate mounts with 3 screws in a triangular pattern this should fit. got this to cut circles, but it will guide straight cuts, edges, inside corners, etc.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Four out of five

After buying this jig just to cut circles in wood, I found out that it is not compatible with any router brand but Craftsman. This website states that it is not compatible with plunge routers' bases, but I fitted it to my CM Digital router with no problems. It cuts perfect circles. Do not plan on using this with fixed-base routers, and as far as I could tell, this guide will not fit any plunge router but the CM Digital. It also did not fit my DeWalt 618, or my friend's two Porter-Cables.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
