I have had good and bad luck with the Nextec series and I will say since adding this to the group I will say its the best charger I have seen from Craftsman.  The original charger did the job but I could outwork the 2 batteries I had. Now they recharger quicker than I can use the power.  Great job Craftsman.

The charger for my older model Craftmen drill died and I thought this could replace it. The 12V battery configuration has changed, so now I don't know what to do. My drill and batteries are still good, so I will have to go back to the store and ask...help.

Craftsman Nextec 12 volt quick boost charger is great. It fully charges a battery for 30 minutes. This is really a short time. I use Nextec work light and the battery lasts long. I am an auto mechanic. When I am busy and the battery dies, I appreciate for QuickBoost feature. It charges 25% for only 3 minutes. It has one year warranty. I've been using for a month but I don't have any problem with it, neither the light and the battery do. I plan to buy another Nextec products like drill and bit driver. Nextec 12 volt products are highly recommended.

I am a DIY guy who likes to finish the job I am doing without stoping. This charger is great and wish the 18 volt chargers would do the same.

I bought this charger to replace a standard one that came in a Nextel Lithium Drill Kit. The original charger lasted only 3 months and I had to buy a whole new complete kit and wait for reimbursement from Sears. In the meantime, I had to ship the original complete kit back to Sears (I was told that store cannot handle direct replacements) and wait for confirmation that it was received back. After 6 months, the replacement kit charger stopped working. To avoid the hassle of another out of pocket purchase and mail return, I bought this charger and took the monetary loss. During my purchase, I was told by the store clerk that the original charger is no longer available and has been replaced by the Quick Charger.

The quick-charge feature is handy if your ending up a job, and don't want to wait for a full charge, but the battery is only partially charged for short-time usage. My solution was to buy a spare battery and wait for a full charge. The full-charge time is about the same as my original charger, which is much faster than other brand Lithium battery/charger combos that I have used. I sure hope this charger lasts as long as the Nextel batteries, which in my opinion are second to none.

The Craftsman NEXTEC 12.0 Volt Quick Boost Battery Charger has an awsome little feature that would allow you to get a very quick 25% charge in the event that you battery dies in the middle of a job or project. It takes about 3 mins for this quick boost and be back up and going. I know some might think this is not a great deal, but I think that it is. Drop the dead battery in the charger & hit the boost button and you are right back up and going in just a couple of minutes. I have more than one battery, but may be using more than one of my Nextec tools at the same time on a project. For example, I may be using both my Nextec multi tool and my right angled impact driver and maybe even my Nextec LED worklight all at the same time and if a battery died on me, I could just pop it in the quick boost charger and still be able to go for a bit longer. I like being able to do a full charge from full dead to full charge in a little less than 30 mins. have a small engine repair shop and do wood working and use my Nextec tools a lot and this new feature on this charger comes in handy. This charger can be set horzontally on your work bench or vertically on the wall anywhere in the shop. There is a quick boost indicator button for the quick boost charging feature. There are bright RED & GREEN LEDs to indicate charging status. This quick boost charger comes with a 1 year Craftsman warranty.So when one of my daughter's call for a home repair of some sort, I can grab my Craftsman tool tote and throw in my quick boost charger with my tools and know that I am covered in the event a battery dies on me while working. Great charger for the Nextec series.
