I cannot really rate the sander as I was unable to use it. It requires an additional purchase of a battery. Went right back to the store and the return process has convinced me that Sears is no longer the place to shop. Not surprised at all to see that they will be closing an additional 100-120 stores.

I have a nice corded sander that has worked great in the past. I was working on a bathroom and tired of tripping over the extension cord. I decided to give this little guy a try and it's awesome! Just as powerful as my corded one and much more portable! no more cords in the and the battery has more than enough juice to get through the project in one charge.

I've read some reviews regarding the absence of a battery and charger. As I already own several Nextec tools, many of which come with batteries, this was not an issue. This is a great little sander, especially to get into tight corners.

I grew up using the rectangular base orbital sanders (and yes with cords as no one back then would ever believe that battery powered tools would be this good) and never was impressed or liked using them. Then a few years ago, I acquired a ryobi sander as part of a set--really liked that guy, but the batteries were large, etc. I have been gradually accumulating pretty much all the Nextec tools and my latest addition, the sander, is another winner. Great balance, good battery life, weight in my mind is near perfect to add force to the sanding, but not too much and not enough to be tiring. Fairly good selection of sandpaper--just wish the prices on the sandpaper were much lower and cold be purchased in sheets with the velcro like backing. Strong recommendation to buy this sander as you'll use it and like it.

This sweet little sander is just the right size for me and my boys. As a single mom of three boys, I bought this in order to lessen the number of slivers my boys got on my deck. It works great and fits in our hands better than an iron. My seven-year-old loves helping to sand with this sander. The only problem--and it is a big one if you are not patient--is that it did not come with a battery. Who knew? I didn't! So I ordered the battery only to find out I still needed to order the charger. But all's well that ends well, and we now have all three components, the sander works well, and it is small and easy to store. Now I just wonder when I will have to buy more sand paper. Just sayin'. ;-)
