It's kind of pricey at $10 more than the battery alone, but I got one as a just in case type of purchase. It does work well and is long life as a stand alone light which doubles as a battery for my drill.

The increased run time is handy for nextec tools and the battery light come in handy when you drop a screw in the dark. The led lights is really bright.

I really like the NexTec line up of tools and this battery/light is a great compliment to my angle impact driver which Sears for some goofy reason had the light on the tool come on only "after" engaging the drive system. The drill and other tools let the light come on before engagement. Going to order the rotary tool today to add to my carry bag. I really like how light weight these tools are.

Bought this battery in high hopes I could use it while camping. I know why camping? I use the right angle impact for putting down the sand pads on my camper and generally its hard to see the bolts. So I was going to use the flashlight on the battery. Went out on my first voyage with the lighted battery after fully charging the battery two nights prior. Got to the location and the battery was dead on arrival. Apparently the button got pressed in the bag, and the light doesn't have a timer to shut off. Sears should create a cap to cover the button for travel. Before I put it into the bag now I put a piece of rigid plastic with a piece of tape to stop the button from getting pressed accidentally.

The idea of combining a Cordless tool battery with a light is the smartest thing anyone has ever thought of.. I know there are cordless tools with lights built in, but sometimes the light doesnt really go where you want it to. In comes the Craftsman Nextec 12v LED Lighted Battery #33170. You can use this just by itself while you are using your cordless tools by just laying it where you want the light to go. In additiion, if you own the Craftsman Nextec 12v Power Supply #30562 You have an instant flashlight handle to point in whatever direction you want and to stand on end.
