Simular Noise & Vibration to My Corded Tool
I bought mine on sale a couple of months ago and really liked it, once I figured out, that the few attachments that come with it are either out of round or unbalanced. The wire brush was the worst offender. It made it louder and vibrate badly. I threw them all away and use the ones from my Dremmel. Like other reviews the tool itself is smooth, and while loud, and a different pitch, very comparable and not louder than my corded Dremmel, which I also like very much. Both are 5,000-30,000 RPM and have a combined on/off variable speed control. Without the battery, both are about the same size and weight. The battery adds 1 ¾ inch to the length and a little weight, while losing the power cord. I ran a comparison with the same attachment: With a Dremmel grinding stone to sharpen my lawn mower blade, both were equally good. With a cutoff wheel on all thread rod, the Craftsman had somewhat more torque, I could exert more pressure and cut a little quicker before the wheel slowed down, than with the corded Dremmel. I was impressed. I never ran a battery life test. The trick to these Nextec tools is to have more than one, and swap batterys on the fly. They fit in my pocket and charge as follows: Top off-5min Full charge from empty-30 minutes. If the fuel gauge indicates yellow or ½ charge-20 minutes. The charger is ?smart? and shuts off when done. Amazing amount of power from small battery. Plus they come charged right out of the box and keep their charge sitting in my drawer.

Not Worth at all
Seems like very powerfull and heavy duty but under a load it quits. you have to turn it off and on again and and again . for very light work like polishing it will be ok but cutting and grinding and other stuff it quits every 5 to 10 seconds. no where close to my corded rotery tool. the one star i gave is for the charger not the tool. i like the quick boost charger which i will use for nextec auto hammer i have.the tool is worthless. the only reason i am not returning the tool is the price i paid on cyber monday was way less than charger and battery alone.

Works great, but get an extra battery.

I got this tool mostly to speed up the roughing out process in my soapstone carvings, but have found so many other uses for it. With heavy cutting / carving the battery will last about 25-30 min on average. So I suggest getting at least one extra.

Overall
My most disappointing NEXTEC tool

I own many NEXTEC tools and this is by far the most disappointing. The tool is large, lacks power, stalls and is (in many cases) unable to cut through the simplest of materials. I paid $29 on sale for this tool and value-wise it was not worth it. Love my other NEXTEC tools but would recommend avoiding this on.

It works and is compatible with other Dremels

It works great. The head and attachment area can accept Dremel type tools. Not as torquee as the Corded version but its power full. You just have to add more RPM and it will do everything any other dremel will do CORDLESS. I love it and I am using it a lot. Would be nice to be able to replace the Brushes somehow if the time comes.

Nextec #1

I love all of my Nextec power tools. They run at full power till the battery is dead. Then it has a full charge in less than an hour. Al of these tools are so light and handy, no sore hands or arms when the job is complete, no matter how long it takes.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

good for what it is.

I like it. it is small compact, uses the same batteries my other tools do so I get decent time with 4 batteries. but it is a little under powered, a little bulky, and could last longer on each battery. but it does allow me to take my jewelry bag of tools and supplies to work on the beach and watch the whales. Maui is just that much more enjoyable with it. If it would only help me with my surfing!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lots of power

I like this rotary tool and it is easy to hold and use. I also bought the 45 degree angle attachment which I find very useful. I recommend that a buyer has no less than two batteries, which is what I did and I am considering buying a third one. The batteries seem to go fairly fast but recharging is quick!! The tool seems to heat up in my hand; don't know if that is norman or what, but I took it down to 4 stars because of the battery duration and heating up. Incidentally, I bought mine for $59.00 on sale from the $99.99 retail price. I would also rather have seen a hard box material instead of the flimsy cloth case for the rotary tool, angle attachment, extra battery(s) and charger and accessory attachments. I will get a lot of use out of this tool with my main use being gourd carving. Jim Hathaway Arizona
