Bought this ratchet because it looked good and had good reviews from others. I've used all brands and types of ratchets and this one is a good one. Overall a great standard ratchet for the money, I'd compare it to be on par with a matco or Mac one. Only wish they made a flex head one like it, preferably a locking flex head.

Recently bought this ratchet as well as the same one in 1/4. So far I'm VERY impressed with these. One of the MAIN reasons I bought these was because they are actually made in the USA. Actually not made by Craftsman, but made in the USA! Take note of that Sears and Craftsman! We like Made in the USA tools! OK so that said this ratchet has a very positive and tight gearing mechanism. Feels very solid when it clicks, no play what so ever. Also the thin profile fits in places other Craftmans ratchets won't. The extended length and shape of the handle is also nice. Feels good in the hand and gives you great torque. Craftsman, you did a GOOD job adding these to your line of ratchets! :)

So I'm a hobby mechanic I refuse to pay out my hard earned money for the "convenience" of letting someone else fix something. It's sort of like flying vs driving. You may get to lounge in the airport but did you really save any usable time...and how much did it cost you. OK someone walked off with my Craftsman Slim Profile 3/8" ratchet and my wife bought me this for Christmas or Father's Day. I honestly don't like using it. Its too heavy & the handle is too long to take advantage of the high teeth count. It doesn't have a quick release button. I have two cheap long handle ratchets for breaking loose things and I usually want something light and nice to the touch and slightly smaller for normal clearance items. I actually tried to use it this last weekend and it was too big and went to the freebie forged craftsman POS and that worked. I also have a 3/8" AmPro stubby high tooth ratchet. I prefer to use that for an application that requires it. She bought my the 1/4" Premium Grade as well and that one is much more useful. Save your money & buy a Craftsman Slim Profile and if you want a high teeth ratchet get a stubby one for those tight spaces.
This item is smooth to work with and great for tight places that you have difficulty reaching. However, I found the claws or notches inside the ratchet to be a little off .
I use it almost everyday, and it works great . the only problems I have is that u have to take the head apart and grease it cause they are not greased very well from factory .
I picked up a 3/8 premium ratchet yesterday, have used about every ratchet out there including truck brands. With out any question this is the finest ratchet made. The finish is perfect, there were no blemishes, it reminded me of a high end German car in quality. The action was smooth as a Swiss watch, It felt perfect. Most important, I have large hands The feel was like someone made it just for me. COO is USA.
