My sump went bad, fortunately, I was home. I removed it. Took it to my Sears Hardware in Lake Zurich, IL, told them it had failed. The sales associate said to simply pick out another, stop by the check out and they would momentarily have me on my way. No charge. No hassle.

I have owned a couple of these pumps and they are great. They work very well for what I have set up. In fact I own 2 at a time. One in the sump and another just in case. I had to use the just in case the other day... Went to Sears to get a replacement and found that Sears changed the warranty from Lifetime to just three years... I have now wasted $165 on a backup pump that will be out of warranty before I put it in the hole. I will be looking for another place to take my business since all they seem to do these days is put out made in China anymore. I am afraid of what will happen to the boatload of Craftsman tools that I own. SO SAD! By the way Seats... The manufacturer and warranty length (change) IS a product feature... Why are you looking to block my Assessment of this product?

No problems to report. It's powerful pump with a no-worry life time warranty.

Easy to setup and the float works well. Only reason I did not give it a 5 star is that the flow volume is a little less than advertised.

if you live in a high water table area here is the best item you are going to need i have one in my basement and i'll tell you this sump pump is the best you will ever find i trust it as should you this pump i rate very high it gives you peace of mind durring those long rainy days and when the water gets high the pump kicks on and does its job its very well built and it can take a beating of being in the water for a long time there are others out BUT this one is the best and i feel no other can hold a candle to it i might be a perfectionist but if your going to have a nice home its called starting from the bottom up after all the years in the army i did learn alot about life and things as long as your honest with your self then your honest with others and your home and family....steve

Dedicated Craftsman person over 40 years changing my future purchasing. This pump is Great when it works. I have unfortunately have replaced (3) within 1 year. 1st Failure top motor cap came loose from assembly and burned up motor, 2nd had a float switch failure an the 3rd motor locked up. Looked up my paperwork all 3 were different lots and assembly dates. Currently i will be composing a letter to Sears Corporate and ask for a Full Refund. After my research I will be replacing with the Rigid 1 H.P. with battery backup all in one. The cost is considerably higher at $399.00 but consider that this model possesses battery backup built in. This of course makes connection and maintenance much easier being an all in one.

I purchased a Craftman professional Sump Pump about eight years ago. It was so reliable and durable until I bought another for the other sump. The hermetically sealed stainless steel construction reduces the potential corrossion. I would recommend it. The only thing that I would add to the current design if possible is a thermal cutoff in the event that the pump runs dry. Other than that it is the most reliable pump that I have purchsed.

BROUGHT THIS SUMP PUMP A YEAR AGO IT WAS WORTH THE MONEY WITH THE RAINY SEASON AND THE SNOW MELT IT HAD TO WORK DOUBLE TIME. THEN ONE DAY IT JUST COULD NOT TAKE IT NO MORE IT JUST QUIT BUT WITH A LIFE TIME WARRANTY TOOK IT BACK TO SEARS AND THY REPLACED IT NO QUESTIONS. REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. IT WENT DOWN ONE WEEK LATER. GOT ANOTHER ONE THE NEXT DAY IT DIED. THE PLASTIC CAP THAT HOLDS THE OIL IN IS NOT THE BEST IT SEEMS TO VIBRATE LOSE AND THE OIL LEAKS OUT THEN THE MOTOR WILL LOCK UP LEAVING A OIL SLICK ALL OVER THE PLACE.WENT BACK TO SEARS AND REPLACED IT WITH A SIMER ACE IN THE HOLE SERIES 3/4HP MODEL3988. (THIS SUMP IS THE REAL DEAL)!!

After two years I found the top had separated from the body leaving an oil slick in my basement. Sears replaced it without question. The new one seems to have the top secured differently, I hope better.

Lifetime warranty only means you're able to replace an unreliable failed pump with another unreliable pump. The lifetime guarantee has replaced pump three times in ten years. The only time the pump has been reliable is when it hasn't had to work.
