I have a pond in my backyard that has a water fall and I have used this same pump for 10 years and finally now just had to replace it. I kept the pump in the pond all year long and it just kept on working and working. I would recommend this pump to anybody for part use or full time use. It has excellent head pressure and will pump water very efficiently at 30 feet, I have not tried it any higher. Overall excellent pump for the money.

This pump ran for 14 hours the day after Huricane Sandy to pump out my crawl space. No problems at all. It pumped down to less than a .25 inch of water, and shut itself off on thermal overload protectionl. Wonderful little pump, a lifesaver. Manahwkin NJ

I connected my garden hoses, a total of 125 feet. I was draining a swimming pool into the drain that is located in my garage. the pump worked non stop for about 99 hours. As the pool drained, i moved the pump to deeper areas, from 4ft to 9ft deep. the grid at the bottom was easy to remove. I think it will last for a lot of uses.ps. the pool contains between 18,000 to 19,000 gallons.

During heavy rains I found myself with 5 inches of water in the crawlspace under my house, and needed a way to get it out. I was admittedly forced into this pump as it was the only thing left on the shelves of any nearby store for the purpose. It worked like a charm! I used the hose adapter and a regular garden hose, and it ran for about 7 hours without issue. I was amazed at how quiet it was and it puts out a pretty good flow of water. I had no issues with clogging or anything like that even though the water had lots of stuff floating in it. I had to sit it right in the dirt towards the end but it still just kept pumping. I got it down to less than an inch before I called it quits for the night (It doesn't shut off automatically) After I was done I removed the screen and filter plate, and it was easy to clean. Only had to use it once so far, but to echo another comment, it worked when I needed it!

Just purchased yesterday and had to use today to pump out over 6 inches of water in cellar after extended rain had caused sewer system to become overwhelmed. Used the 1-1/4 inch discharge hose that is purchased seperate for $9 and cellar was pumped out in less than four hours with good flow rate. Had to secure the pump to ground at times due to the water pressure through the 1-1/4 inch hose causing the pump to fall over but not a big deal for the occasional use. Hope pump is reliable over time, however, I do plan to purchase a second one just in case as back up.

Mine is finally going out it seems. I have to use mine every rainy season for about the last 10 years. Maybe 6 hours a year over dozens of starts a year. Maybe 60 to 100 hours use so its been pretty good. 2 times I've had to take off the bottom plate because a small rock jammed the impeller. But it worked fine after. First time every time. Its finally getting touchy. It seems to be jamming very easily and also maybe the internal overload protector may be kicking in. The screws rusted so I cant open it to see if its jammed but it doesn't seem like the same problem as before. Anyway called sears to get a replacement. The guy said its a ltd lifetime warranty. He would take it in for repair but no exchange besides he was sold out of pumps. Just wanted to say its a very good pump but I bought it so I could just run in and swap in an emergency but that's a no go. I just wish they would have made that more clear.

This pump performed very reliably through 2 major basement flooding events this month. It moves a lot of water fast if you use the optional 1" discharge hose kit that Sears also sells (much faster than with the garden hose setup) and so far it's been rock solid and durable. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it in pratice it pumps down to about 1/2" of water (despite the claimed 1/4" inch) and there are comparably priced pumps on the market that claim to pump to 1/8". But we were grateful to have it.

I have two of these pumps because they keep breaking after one use. And if you have trouble with lots of rainy weather, than you cannot afford to have something not work when needed or quit in the middle of flooding. When it works, it works great. But for the most part, the pump does not work for more than one or two uses. I do like the lifetime guarntee on this product (when Sears honors it anyway). I will not waste my money on this product again.
