Easy to assemble and very intuitive. Love the wide rip lengths available and the portability. Quickly zipped through my OSB sheets to create perfect fitting walls for my detached garage. With a simple roller addition, I could handle the 4X8 sheets by myself. Can't wait to try the router table and do some angles.
i have a small one man woodshop, so space is limited. This saw is ideal for my new hobbie. woodworking is very relaxing and this table saw enhances the feeling. thanks for the precision design.
i picked this saw up the other day from sears and started using it to finish a cabinet i had already stared and with the slide table on the left side made it easy to cut the wood i need to make the drawers and cut the mortise the fence with a little adjustment is dead on just slide and lock smooth start up very nice saw
This is a wonderful saw in many ways. I really like the precision capable in all types of cutting scenarios. Throw in the portability / storability, and I would recommend weekend warriers consider this saw over any fixed-base type of saw. I've done a lot of cutting - trimming out a 2000 sq foot house - and look forward each time to the simple setup and operation. I also own a fixed Delta contractor table saw, a Sears radial arm saw, and a Sears sliding chop saw, but prefer this for almost all types of cutting scenarios.
I work as a contractor & home handyman so this saw gets used each week indoors & out. I had the original, Ryobi BT3000 & used it for nearly 20 years. When it was time to look for a new saw I started thinking about something more portable, the BT3000 had a fixed stand with little wheels to roll it around the shop. I went to the internet & found this updated edition in the Craftsman 21829 with a folding stand. Love the mobility, but still not sure, I looked at what it would cost to buy a cross cut sled & a router table & then remembered that I would also have to find room to lug these around with me as well, not to mention the additional cost. I quickly went to Sears & bought my replacement saw. This saw has it all & can become an all in one, on the job work station for large panels down to routing some trim molding, not much that it cant do! the Improved cross cut miter sled (since my old BT3000) gives you easy to read angle cuts with a large support surface & longer fence than the normal miter gauge, which is also included. The sliding wing table that doubles as a router table saves you hundreds of $$ on a separate router table & you can use this one with the fence from the saw & it even has a safety shield that can be connected to a vacuum to ensure a clean & safe work area. The onboard storage for all of the fences is great & can be used with the stand in the up or down position for transportation. All around a great design that serves many purposes, only thing that I would change is larger wheels to go up stairs better. Thank you Craftsman for keeping this saw alive in it's next re-incarnation from the old BT3000.

This is a follow up to a previous review. I have had it now for 1 1/2 years. I have done big cuts with pine and other soft woods. No problem. And small precision cuts out of exoxtic hard woods. Ebony, Paduc to name a couple. It cuts very accurately. The miter sled is great. I recently made some picture frames. The miters were perfect. I like the router table attachment. The fence attachments could be better though. they are independent from each other and can get out of alignment. I finally figured out the plastic tube. My owners manual did not explain its use. It fits a 2" shop vac hose and does a nice job of removing waste from router table surface. My shop is my back yard. So I love how this saw folds up so easily to store away in my shed. This is the best saw for the money until you get into the $2000.00 dollar range. I would highly reccomend this saw.

I also caught this on sale for $350 or so. This is my first table saw. I wish I had saved the money and put it towards a better saw. CONS My biggest complaint is the fence. It is not a fast, secure, or very precise . The front of the fence clamps, but it has a eighth inch wiggle depending on how much pressure you put on the fence. Occasionally the fence pops it track which is a huge problem. On the back of the fence is a screw that tighten to the track. I have found that the best results is to crank down on the screw and I get good cuts, but it's not fast to switch to different measurements. The is also lots of double checking measurements between cuts since fence wiggles so much. The fence is really the most import thing of a table saw, besides safety. I wish the off switch was LARGE AND OVERSIZE so I can bump it with my knee, and keep my hands on the project to prevent kickbacks. LIMITED REVIEW LENGTH! BOO! CAN'T TELL MANY PROS I LIKE
i've had this table saw for about three years, the first two of which were very light-duty years. this past year i've been using it way more and have been pleased. it works well for a beginner woodworker and is as accurate as i need it. i'm sure as my skills progress as do my needs, i may outgrow this saw but for what i paid and the features it offers, it's a good saw. the large miter fence and sliding sled are nice but may be a source of wandering cuts if not checked. as of right now, i'm not sure if i'd have preferred a simple miter slot on both sides of the blade. we'll see, i suppose. the capacity is good for a saw that can fold up to such a small package in the corner of a workspace. i can see some future table top space being added, however, as the supplied accessory tables are a bit crowded. all the accessories store on the saw and it folds up nice and easy. good starter saw with room for growth, IMO.
I bought this saw 5 years ago, I use it professionally and know by experience any tool has to be used to be tested. I use this saw for all applications from cabinet building to general use on a home construction site. I use the table for the router, which works very well. I work as a mobile shop and the fold and store ability is perfect for my use.. If I needed a new table saw today I would by this one again. L.Pruett
