I have a small shop and I needed a compact, powerful table saw with 3/4" miter grooves, dado capable, sawdust pickup, and expandable table. I took off the wheels and mounted it on a hard stand with lockable wheels. I use Kreg miter system and this fence is fine and accurate for my needs. The DeWalt 745 does not take dado's, so this was a great deal at $300.

All settings were dead-on out of the box. I did change out the blade for a top quality one and added a cross-cut sled.

the first saw that I picked up was at a Sears store. brought it home, opened the box, little black plastic pieces everywhere. inspected the saw, the bracket(s) that hold the "rear outfeed support" was busted/broken. returned it the same day, Sears did not have another one in stock (shocking!). had the second one delivered, which took a few days. we're building a garage, old one burned down, so the timing on this thing was imperative. thankfully we got it before we started to hang the sheeting.

What a great saw for the price, I was doing a job out of town and some how we left our small saw at the shop, so I ran to Sears with the old card and wow what a saw! This thing is small but packs a great punch. Right out of the box the saw was dead on. The fence is almost what you would find on a $500.00+ saw, handle's are right up front and very easy to use, Even has a dust collection system for a small shop vac. The wheels and handle make the saw very easy to move around and stores up-right, takes less space in the trailer. Wish I would have bought this thing years ago. You hit a 1000 on this one Craftsman, way to go, love it!!! Cabinet Door Shop, Elgin SC....

I purchased this table saw in Feb. of 2010. It always had a terrible vibration when turned on, but I always thought it was normal until now (July 2012) when the transmission went bad in it and the blade wouldn't turn. Had I known this noisy vibration was a bad transmission, I would have returned it and gotten a new one right away. Unfortunately, it's now out of even my extended warranty that I purchased for it. Aside from the bad transmission, everything else works to satisfaction.

Pros: Made in Taiwan, the electronics are better than China Telescopic handle makes it easier to move around, switching to bevel cuts was easy with clap device. Cons: Standard miter isn't accurate, need to upgrade to Incra V27 if you plan on making very accurate cross cuts, most manufactures don't provide a good miter gauge. Fence accuracy, I had to double measure, don't know about other brands. Top will scratch easily with the miter gauge, I wish it wasn't painted but left unpainted Craftsman has a yellow safety key, if you lose this plastic insert or need to remove it with small children during project, saw WILL NOT power on. Sears should have designed a two digit key pad device you program to turn on. On balance a decent saw, paid about $70 less than Dewalt don't know if the savings was enough of an incentive, time will tell if it holds up in year 3 and 4.

I purchased this saw to help me make a bed for my son. without the saw, the same amount of work took me 2 days to complete, with cuts that weren't straight at all. with this saw, I had consistent, accurate pieces, all cut in half a day, including some 45 degree angle cuts, which I had to give up on before this saw. With a second person (or a bit of scrapwood handywork), it can easily handle a 4x8 piece of plywood with ease. It was a breeze to set up and straight off the bat, the blade was cutting true and accurate. the next project for this bad boy is 200 miles away (Incredibly easy to move about, and light enough to carry) where I will be helping rebuild an entire house. I can't wait to see what this bad boy can do!

This saw exceeded my expectations. It is a powerful saw that you will have in your collection of tools for years to come. It will be your go 2 saw for all your projects. I have cut large 4' x 8' sheets of plywood on down to the smallest piece of molding. It is gradts.
