      Maintenance Made Easy
After having a rear tire blow out Friday night I was not looking forward to my first tire change on my Triumph Rocket 3 Touring. At 2300cc (140ci) this is a BIG bike. Knowing that the old tricks I used for lifting smaller/lighter bikes wouldn't have worked I did a lot of online shopping for a compact lift and decided on this Craftsman. After getting the jack home, I prepared the ratchet straps. The low profile and manuverability of the jack made it easy to slip right under the bike and find solid lift point around the oil pan even with a flat rear tire which dropped the bikes clearance by at least 5 inches. After finding a good strap point i was able to get the entire bike off the ground with ease, to a height suitable for removing the bags, exhaust, brake assembly, axel and getting the tire out from under the fender skirt with ease. The bike did not swivel or rock at all as I performed the work needed. For those of you out there with Ultra Classics, Stratoliners, Visions, Valkyries, Road Kings and Gold Wings... this would most likely be the jack for you since it worked so well for the largest production bike on the market. See you all on the highway.

Okay, but not necessarily better than other options
I had a "red" Craftsman jack I purchased in 2008, and it worked like a champ. I sold it to a friend in Germany who needed a jack, to save weight on the move home. I decided to "upgrade" by purchasing this unit as opposed to a new "red" jack. Pros: It is lighter, stands on end or can be hung on a wall when not in use, and the hydraulic mechanism seems to be very solid and responsive. It is easier to move about the floor w/ a bike on it than the "red" stand. Cons: It wobbles more than any stand I've owned with a bike on it. I have a V-Rod, which at @ 630 lbs wet weighs well less than what this jack is rated (1500 lbs.) The rear support of the stand "sags" with the bike on it, as there is no additional support to steady the the stand if it is not fully extended. With the Craftsman "red" jack, I was more than comfortable lifting my motorcycle on it and leaving it for winter, even without strapping it down. The jack held the bike level and stable. On this jack, even with strapping the bike down, I am anxious as to whether the jack will be able to withstand 4-5 months of holding the vehicle off the ground. But we shall see. Given the option to do it again, I would purchase the less expensive and more stable "red" Craftsman jack again, and forego this one. I will likely sell this one when I return this spring and look for a more sturdy option I can fully trust. In my opinion, this one is okay for quick maintenance on a smaller, lighter vehicles, such as a dirt bike.

      Returning it

Don't buy this if you plan on lifting anything heavy. my bike is about 800 lbs. (1/2 the rated Capacity) Distorted the thing on the first lift. 1 wheel was about 1/2 inch ( Twisted the Frame) from touching the floor after just 1 lift of about 6 inches. I would not walk away from this with your bike sitting on it!! you could see the aluminum lift pads bending with weight on it. the control valve is way to sensitive, and would be a good way to drop your bike on the floor.

      Aluminum motorcycle jack

Works as advertised. Wish the release valve wasn't so sensitive, but can live with that. Light and easy to maneuver.

      One Tough Jack

I Bought this jack for myself for Christmas and as i opened the box i could see this was one nice jack. The quality showed right off the start. I needed it the next day (believe it or not). Worked very smooth and sturdy. A true Craftsman product. Very well built product.

      Terrific Lift/Stand

I was looking for a lift/stand to work on my HD Street Glide and store it for Winter. After reading some of the reviews I almost looked elsewhere. Glad I didn't. I'm not sure of some of the critiques. My bike is 800+lbs. While I wouldn't recommend it, I was able to lift my bike myself after finding the balance point. I read several reviews of those that thought the stand was too wobbly to leave the bike lifted for storage. For my ride, the first set of locking bars is perfectly placed in that the tires are just touching the ground. In this position I shook the bike fairly well and it wasn't going anywhere. Prior to this I had both tires off the ground in order to push it into the spot I'd be storing it in.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Great Jack

I have a few jacks and this one I use the most and that's because of its versatility. If you need a jack that gets down low, you're probably not going to beat this one. If you're going to have one jack, this is the one.

      1500 lb. Motorcycle/ATV Jack

Jack is sturdy, well built, and easy to use. The problem I had was that the cradle was not wide enough but I was able to make it work. Cradle needs to be longer for bigger motorcycles.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
