Works great. Very sturdy with straps to make the bike even more sturdy. Jack it up, strap it down and do whatever you want, even sit on it. Has a safety catch in case you accidentally lower it without meaning to.
Lets see, I have owned this jack for several months. Bought when on Sale back in Sept (I think). I use it to pick up my 2010 Yamaha Majesty. A 467 Pound "Scooter". Used so far when I had to remove the front wheel to lubricate the Speedo Sensor. Usually use it for Cleaning the wheels. It does the job. The only thing I noticed is, The Hardware is starting to look like its rusting. Aluminum Jack with Steel hardware???? I may have to look into SS hardware later on. Never had the chance to leave the bike on it overnight. Seems sturdy enough for mine anyway.

After having a rear tire blow out Friday night I was not looking forward to my first tire change on my Triumph Rocket 3 Touring. At 2300cc (140ci) this is a BIG bike. Knowing that the old tricks I used for lifting smaller/lighter bikes wouldn't have worked I did a lot of online shopping for a compact lift and decided on this Craftsman. After getting the jack home, I prepared the ratchet straps. The low profile and manuverability of the jack made it easy to slip right under the bike and find solid lift point around the oil pan even with a flat rear tire which dropped the bikes clearance by at least 5 inches. After finding a good strap point i was able to get the entire bike off the ground with ease, to a height suitable for removing the bags, exhaust, brake assembly, axel and getting the tire out from under the fender skirt with ease. The bike did not swivel or rock at all as I performed the work needed. For those of you out there with Ultra Classics, Stratoliners, Visions, Valkyries, Road Kings and Gold Wings... this would most likely be the jack for you since it worked so well for the largest production bike on the market. See you all on the highway.
I had a "red" Craftsman jack I purchased in 2008, and it worked like a champ. I sold it to a friend in Germany who needed a jack, to save weight on the move home. I decided to "upgrade" by purchasing this unit as opposed to a new "red" jack. Pros: It is lighter, stands on end or can be hung on a wall when not in use, and the hydraulic mechanism seems to be very solid and responsive. It is easier to move about the floor w/ a bike on it than the "red" stand. Cons: It wobbles more than any stand I've owned with a bike on it. I have a V-Rod, which at @ 630 lbs wet weighs well less than what this jack is rated (1500 lbs.) The rear support of the stand "sags" with the bike on it, as there is no additional support to steady the the stand if it is not fully extended. With the Craftsman "red" jack, I was more than comfortable lifting my motorcycle on it and leaving it for winter, even without strapping it down. The jack held the bike level and stable. On this jack, even with strapping the bike down, I am anxious as to whether the jack will be able to withstand 4-5 months of holding the vehicle off the ground. But we shall see. Given the option to do it again, I would purchase the less expensive and more stable "red" Craftsman jack again, and forego this one. I will likely sell this one when I return this spring and look for a more sturdy option I can fully trust. In my opinion, this one is okay for quick maintenance on a smaller, lighter vehicles, such as a dirt bike.
This is a gift but the husband says this is a great jack. The design is good. He liked the straps that are included. This is a great gift for the motorcycle person in your life.
