The ideal purpose is lift, but the quality is also important. The yellow lift handle is too short, need another piece for extension, plus there should be a grip handle (slip resistant). For many years, Sears made their heavy duty jacks in America, they had better features, like a hydraulic fluid fill bolt, to unscrew, and top off fluid. Bottom line is poor quality from china.. this unit has a cheap tiny black fill plug, not a bolt like the older models, (this will leak fluid). It looks nice from a distance.. But it's not worth the cost, Is not what you see pictured here. Just two yellow tubes (no grip) and a nice craftsman sticker, on a ************** cheap jack (49.00)

This one really had me surprised. The extra lifting capacity it has with the screw cap gives it the reach it needs for large trucks or SUVs. I felt completely safe with this jack and a set of 4-ton jack stands. This thing is solid and feels like it was built to last. The side grab bar, though thin, makes it really easy to maneuver the jack around on my smooth garage floor. The jack bar comes apart for easy storage. Mine didn't come with the black rubber grip on the bar, but I had an extra set from an old bike build, and it fit just right. I got lucky and found this jack on clearance (probably because it was missing the black grip) so I paid half. Couldn't be happier and now I feel like I can lift pretty much anything that rolls into my man cave.
