no leaks air or oil, starts hard in the cold, 30s i have to completly drain the tank when it is cold to get the motor to start pumping, could be due to the distance from the eletrical service entrance, i may try switching to 240V and see if that helps, its nice to have a compressor that is quiet and has a longer run time between topup, it came ready to go from the box, after a 30 minute no load break in period.

Great compressor and quiet unless you need to power it from a generator. Attempted to connect using a 3000 watt big red "Hon" and also a "Yam" blue generator (probably can't use the brand names) and a 6300 "Yam" . Could not start up and overloaded the gen.

I have owned this compressor since 2005, and its been reliable. with estimated 400+ hours on it with yearly Amsoil oil changes this compressor has never let me down, yes it draws heavy on circuits its to be expected when starting a compressor with pressure in the system. Never had any leaks. I drain the tank after every use and I have recommended this to friends and they are just as happy with its performance. Only suggestion don't use cheep ************** tools or low grade craftsman. I use the tools from my tool box at work all high grade tools, found works better than cheepy tools. And also found if your intelligent enough to use a PROFFESIONAL grade compressor you would be smart enough to understand starting amp load rating of a motor.

Purchased this after returning a the 26 gallon oil-less compressor. Previous compressor leaked, and was deafeningly loud. After performing manufacturer specified startup, found air and oil leaks on the compressor. I was very disappointed in the purchases I made, and returned all of it for a refund. Save your money, and time and buy quality tolls made in the states.

So far so good I like this compressor , runs quite ,fills up fast , and it is made by San Born , I owned a San Born compressor for 30 + yrs and it still runs , hope this one last as long as the old one does. had to add a little oil to it but that is all ,have it on a dedicated line like it says to do in the instructions . I added a inline water filter to remove water from my line and it works great . no problems here .

I got this compressor to replace standard (non professional line) compressor when it seized. This compressor is much more adequate for my needs. It puts out a good amount of air (5.6cfm at 90psi) and is SUPER quiet. It's easy to move around though and doesn't take up much footprint. I have a few gripes though. First, the wheels are very loose, and I haven't found a good way to tighten them yet. I don't know if the issue is the bearings or what. Second, I had to superglue and zip-tie the cylinder pressure relief valve line that runs to the pressure switch, because it was blowing off the fitting around 110psi. The regulator and pressure switch leave something to be desired as well, they seem cheap. The compressor is great functionally (puts out plenty of clean air and is quiet), but is lacking in the quality department. Classic Chinese Sears quality :-/ Also, there are many compressors out there with significantly better specs that are American made and are comparable in price.

Purchased on 3/25/11, noticed trace of oil leaking from bottom of piston housing, had to tighten bolts which took care of that. On 7/23/12 the regulator started leaking when the pressure
is reduced, however it does not leak on full pressure. The motor and compressor
seem to be well made. All in all it's been great and used alot. Runs very quiet
and airs up quickly. I would give it 5 stars except for the issues above.

This compressor does not put out enough air and takes way too long to re fill the tank. My old Sears 2HP Compressor worked great for 25 years, never tripped a breaker never left me without air until I wore it out due to poor maintenance. I failed to change the oil often enough. It broke. This new compressor tripped breakers all the time running on 110. I assumed it was a power shortage so I upgraded to 220 power and thought all would be fixed. No chance. Now it overheats the motor every time I try and work it. It will not run continuously for any amount of time without tripping the overheat button. I have forced fan fed air over it while working and it still overheats. Imangine my disappointment when I searched on line to find many people have this issue. Don't buy one, if you like this one search Craigs List, I see them for sale all the time for $200 because they don't work as advertised. If you want a compressor to fill tires sometimes it is fine, just don't expect it to be a worker. The air it puts out is so hot it creates a lot of moisture issues when it does run. Sorry I don't have any positives. Sears should recall this product.

I have had a coleman black max which is virtually identically the same thing for over fifteen years with NO problems. Never tripped a breaker, never burned up a motor, or had to replace anything at all. Get a two pole 20 amp breaker and 12 gauge wire, the proper outlet and power cord. and your good to go. This compressor should never in my opinion be wired for 115 volts anyway. More voltage means less amps used. My compressor has never ever been wired for 115 volts. It sits in a cabinet on the outside of my shop. It is connected to 1/2" sch. 40 PVC hardlined into my shop. there is no hoses attached to the tank. It has been set up like this for the past two years. Prior to that it sat on my shop floor with a hose attached to it. This unit should be on a DEDICATED circut preiod. Upon statup the motor WILL use the full load of the circut. If any other electrical devices are attached to the compressor's circut the motor may fail to start. Read the manual it tells you in black and white. Whether or not it ts set up for 115v or 240v Inadequate wiring will cause the voltage to drop resulting in sluggish starting and causing the the overload protection system or the circut breaker to trip. Any electrical issues will be addressed if a new circut from your electrical panel straight to the compressor is installed. Period. The best advice is to read the electrical power requirements in the operator's manual before using this product. If you want some portable plug in anywhere compressor then get something smaller. This isn't the product for you.
