Awesome tool
I am a cable installation technitian i Was looking for a good cordless drill for a good value. I drill holes in metal, concrete and wood all day and struggled to get through even wood with my 18 volt black and decker cordless drill. My old drill would not even drill though wood with me 18" drill bit attached. So i was in pittsburgh and decided to stop into sears to see if Craftsman had a drill out there for me that i would like. I saw the 20.0 volt lithium ion 1/2 hammer drill i thought i would buy it and give it a try. So the first day i had it i was shocked to find out how much torque that the drill has. I now drill through brick. concrete, wood and metal now with the drill and it doesnt even ever hesitate to go through it. Simply put: Love the drill and for sure remcommend someone else to buy as well

Hammer Shmammer
I'm on my second hammer-drill. The first one slipped out of hammer mode and free-wheeled the clutch all the time. The second one does it intermittently 50% of the time depending upon how aggressive I'm pushing the drill. It has plenty of power to get through any materials, it just gets frustrating when I'm in concrete and have to baby it so it doesn't rattle out of hammer mode and free-wheel. If it keeps it up, it's going back to the store again, maybe Craftsman can get this fixed. Otherwise I like the drill.

Great drill, horrible charging system

Bought this drill and used it for a few weeks, battery finally discharged from use. I was happy with performance. On second charge, battery did not charge, in fact, would not charge either battery. I don't know if faulty batteries or just charger is faulty. I am in the military and stationed in Okinawa , Japan. No Sears stores here.

Third time being repaired.

Extremely unhappy with this drill. The first breakdown was just needing to have the chuck replaced. The second was from it to suddenly quit working. The third was to be returned again the very next day for it to still not work at all. (It was NOT fixed.)

The drill is great but the batteries... not so much

Never used the drills hammer function but otherwise I had no complaints with it. Battery life was great at first. First battery quit taking a charge after about a month. The second quit about 3 months after that. $90 for a replacement battery, ridiculous!!

Best Cordless drill I ever had.

This hammer drill was the most powerful long lasting cordless drill I ever had. Its just a shame that they discontinued it.

hammer mode slips out of gear..im on my third drill

drills works well for everything but hammer drill mode which is what i need it for mainly. i am on my third drill and plan on returning all my craftsman professional tool set and getting either a milwaukee set or dewault xrp set. i have used both those with plenty of success as a hammer drill. i do not recommend this drill. i figures mayber the first two drills i got just had something wrong with the hammer drill or something..it is obviously major defect. the drill slips out of hammer mode constantly if you put even the lightest amount of pressure on it.

Bare Hammer Drill Availability

Fantastic drill, lots of torque and battery life. However, a spare drill is not available. If you need a backup drill you have to buy the entire kit. This needs to change.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
