With 8,259 cubic inches of storage space and movable shelves, the Craftsman professional 28" wide 2-shelf platinum wall cabinet can adjust to fit your needs rather than the other way around. The heavy-duty frame is coated with corrosion-resistant paint, creating a cabinet with the durable strength to handle up to 50 pounds. Five fixed shelves inside the doors give you additional storage options.

The zero-clearance doors on the 28" wide 2-shelf platinum wall cabinet let you hang several units closely together, optimizing the space in your shop, garage or basement. Attach it directly to your walls or use the Craftsman VersaTrack system-both types of brackets are included. An adjustable detent closing system shuts quickly, every time, and a locking system adds extra security if you're trying to keep solvents or sharp tools away from children.

They're nice!
Having read the previous reviews I'll address some of their complaints with my experience. For well over a year the complaints were damage from poor packaging. I bought 3 of these cabinets this week and hoped the packaging problem was fixed. Well it was......kinda. All 3 boxes were in what I considered flimsy cardboard and they weren't sealed that well. All 3 boxes had anywhere from 1 to 3 nylon bands holding the box together. The boxes were neither crushed or torn apart. But they were rough around the edges which I imagine came from their handling. I could not find where these cabinets were made. If they came from around the world by ship I would consider myself lucky based on the packaging. There was cardboard and styrofoam on the top, bottom and 4 corners with a 1x4 piece of wood running from the top of the box to the bottom to prevent crushing on the back side only. The front of the box where the doors are could easily be crushed resulting in door damage. If the box looked damaged I was not gonna bring the box home from the store without inspecting it first. The store is 25 miles away. But there was no visible damage on the boxes. The first box I opened when I got home had damage!!! The front horizontal frame above and below the doors were damaged. The top was slightly bent upward and the lower slightly bent downward. The doors each have a top and bottom pin which act as a hinge. The top pin is longer than the bottom for a reason. To attach the doors you are supposed to put the top door pins in first and push the door all the way up which then allows you to move the door in and over the lower hole to drop the lower pin in. IT CAN NOT BE DONE putting the lower pin in first. So when I took this cabinet out of the box the doors fell off. It APPEARS who ever tried to assemble this cabinet put the lower pin in first and then couldn't put the top one in so they bent the frame at the top and bottom to get the pins in. None of the bushings were installed on the pins either to give you the proper door height from the bottom. You would think an assembly worker would know the correct way to attach these doors. I didn't wanna take these cabinets back if they were in good usable and nice looking condition. I bent the top and bottom frames back where they should be and it looks fine EXCEPT where some of the paint chipped off from bending the metal frame. On to the next 2 boxes with fingers crossed. Some of the foam was busted up pretty good but both cabinets were free of any damage and the doors were mounted and the spacer bushings correctly installed!!! Perfect!! These cabinets do come assembled as you can see. There are a couple pieces you have to install. You must install a door tensioner for each door. The tensioners are adjustable and mount with 2 carriage bolts each. You can attach these cabinets to the wall directly or use the supplied mounting brackets . I like the way they mount with the brackets. You screw a wall bracket to the wall in the studs and the cabinet hangs on that bracket. It makes mounting the cabinets very easy. But if you chose this method you must attach another supplied bracket to the back of the cabinet that will hang from the wall bracket. Two carriage bolts attach this bracket to the cabinet. Even though the cabinets are 12" deep, the interior shelves are 9" deep. The other 3" are the door thicknesses which have the other shelves built in. These are nice looking and heavy duty cabinets. I have had the matching floor cabinet about 5 years now and really like it. These cabinets can be mounted side by side and the doors allow for opening if mounted this way. I think Sears can still do a much better job on the packaging but it does sound like an improvement from over a year ago. If these boxes get tossed around a warehouse they will be damaged. If not for the packaging and damage to the first cabinet I would have given them 5 Stars.

craftsman professional 31" wide wall cabine

The cabinet is pretty good.  It does dent a bit easy.  DO NOT have this cabinet shipped to your house, as it is not packaged well enough for shipping(reason for 3 stars).   The packaging allows the cabinet to flex while being handled.  This causes the door hinge pins to come out of their holes causing all kinds of scratching and bending of metal with additional flexing. This then causes the spacer on the bottom hinge pin to fall off and will be lost, thus not allowing doors to align properly  or even close.  Sears needs to tape the doors when packaging to keep them from becoming dislodged ( this applies even for store shipments).  Buy this at the store and open the packaging and inspect the cabinet for damage prior to leaving the store.    I do have several of these cabinets and would rate them closer to 5 stars if it weren't for missing spacers and bent/scratched metal.

Bought six, would buy six more...if I had the wall space!

I recently had the opportunity for a complete garage redo. Six of these wall cabinets were part of my dream setup. They all arrived in pristine condition with all parts and instruction manual present. The 1st one took me a half hour to read thru and assemble, the others only took me each 15 minutes max. The hanging brackets went up without a problem. I knew I would be loading these up with a lot of tools, parts, drum set components, etc. With that in mind, I anchored the brackets to wall studs. Make sure you pre-drill for the bracket lag bolts. No problems after 7 months. I've even got stuff stored on top of each one.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great garage shelf

Great having inside door shelves for car waxes, bottles, etc. Very sturdy material and construction. Hung two side by side, needed about 4 inches in between to allow doors to open about 150 degrees to be out of the way.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent wall cabinet

I bought this cabinet to augment my existing sears collection of tool chests and storage cabinets! It features heavy duty steel construction that will surely outlast me! It is made of rolled steel and not some flimsy plastic! I recommend mounting a level 2X4 where you want the bottom of the cabinet! This simplifies installation. I highly recommend Sears line of cabinets and tool chests.

Love this cabinet

I bought 1 then I went back and bought another. I also have 3 Gladiator cabinets, These are very useful for me for storing bottles and small cans of paint, I use the Gladiators for the bigger stuff I store. Love how these open with the doors and was able to put the same lock on these as my tool chests and bench storage. 1 key for it all. Highly recommend.

Craftsman Wall Cabinet

Only problem with the cabinet was that there was a small lock nut missing. We replaced at local hardware store rather than ship entire cabinet for replacement. Sears customer service was very helpful and easy to deal with.

Does anyone test these things?

While the build quality of these cabinets is good, I am disappointed in the latches that pull the doors shut. The screws that were included did not work correctly and kept hanging up in the latch mechanism. I compared the mechanisms to the ones in my identical cabinets purchased 10 years ago and found the difference in screws. I had to be a "craftsman" and grind the threads off part of the screws in order for them to work properly. I guess anyone buying the cabinets for the first time would just assume that the closing mechanism just works poorly by design, which is unfortunate.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Reasonable value and quality

Some assembly required, but nothing difficult. Cabinet is not rigid and requires attention to getting everything squared up and tightened. Hanging the cabinet is easy using installation set-up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

5 Shelf Wall Cabinet.

I bought two of these and they are great. I had them shipped and one came damaged. I was able to exchange it at the sears by me. Easy to install.

Locks

I bought 5 cabinets. Three of them came with the lock in the up position with the door open. Then the door had been pushed against the frame and bent both the frame and the lock shaft. Very sloppy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
