They're nice!
Having read the previous reviews I'll address some of their complaints with my experience. For well over a year the complaints were damage from poor packaging. I bought 3 of these cabinets this week and hoped the packaging problem was fixed. Well it was......kinda. All 3 boxes were in what I considered flimsy cardboard and they weren't sealed that well. All 3 boxes had anywhere from 1 to 3 nylon bands holding the box together. The boxes were neither crushed or torn apart. But they were rough around the edges which I imagine came from their handling. I could not find where these cabinets were made. If they came from around the world by ship I would consider myself lucky based on the packaging. There was cardboard and styrofoam on the top, bottom and 4 corners with a 1x4 piece of wood running from the top of the box to the bottom to prevent crushing on the back side only. The front of the box where the doors are could easily be crushed resulting in door damage. If the box looked damaged I was not gonna bring the box home from the store without inspecting it first. The store is 25 miles away. But there was no visible damage on the boxes. The first box I opened when I got home had damage!!! The front horizontal frame above and below the doors were damaged. The top was slightly bent upward and the lower slightly bent downward. The doors each have a top and bottom pin which act as a hinge. The top pin is longer than the bottom for a reason. To attach the doors you are supposed to put the top door pins in first and push the door all the way up which then allows you to move the door in and over the lower hole to drop the lower pin in. IT CAN NOT BE DONE putting the lower pin in first. So when I took this cabinet out of the box the doors fell off. It APPEARS who ever tried to assemble this cabinet put the lower pin in first and then couldn't put the top one in so they bent the frame at the top and bottom to get the pins in. None of the bushings were installed on the pins either to give you the proper door height from the bottom. You would think an assembly worker would know the correct way to attach these doors. I didn't wanna take these cabinets back if they were in good usable and nice looking condition. I bent the top and bottom frames back where they should be and it looks fine EXCEPT where some of the paint chipped off from bending the metal frame. On to the next 2 boxes with fingers crossed. Some of the foam was busted up pretty good but both cabinets were free of any damage and the doors were mounted and the spacer bushings correctly installed!!! Perfect!! These cabinets do come assembled as you can see. There are a couple pieces you have to install. You must install a door tensioner for each door. The tensioners are adjustable and mount with 2 carriage bolts each. You can attach these cabinets to the wall directly or use the supplied mounting brackets . I like the way they mount with the brackets. You screw a wall bracket to the wall in the studs and the cabinet hangs on that bracket. It makes mounting the cabinets very easy. But if you chose this method you must attach another supplied bracket to the back of the cabinet that will hang from the wall bracket. Two carriage bolts attach this bracket to the cabinet. Even though the cabinets are 12" deep, the interior shelves are 9" deep. The other 3" are the door thicknesses which have the other shelves built in. These are nice looking and heavy duty cabinets. I have had the matching floor cabinet about 5 years now and really like it. These cabinets can be mounted side by side and the doors allow for opening if mounted this way. I think Sears can still do a much better job on the packaging but it does sound like an improvement from over a year ago. If these boxes get tossed around a warehouse they will be damaged. If not for the packaging and damage to the first cabinet I would have given them 5 Stars.

craftsman professional 31" wide wall cabine

The cabinet is pretty good.  It does dent a bit easy.  DO NOT have this cabinet shipped to your house, as it is not packaged well enough for shipping(reason for 3 stars).   The packaging allows the cabinet to flex while being handled.  This causes the door hinge pins to come out of their holes causing all kinds of scratching and bending of metal with additional flexing. This then causes the spacer on the bottom hinge pin to fall off and will be lost, thus not allowing doors to align properly  or even close.  Sears needs to tape the doors when packaging to keep them from becoming dislodged ( this applies even for store shipments).  Buy this at the store and open the packaging and inspect the cabinet for damage prior to leaving the store.    I do have several of these cabinets and would rate them closer to 5 stars if it weren't for missing spacers and bent/scratched metal.

I bought two of these and they are great. I had them shipped and one came damaged. I was able to exchange it at the sears by me. Easy to install.

Locks

I bought 5 cabinets. Three of them came with the lock in the up position with the door open. Then the door had been pushed against the frame and bent both the frame and the lock shaft. Very sloppy.

A bit disappointed.

Though I am not as happy as I expected to be with this cabinet, I'll start with the good stuff. It's big. There is a lot of room in this cabinet. It comes mostly assembled. It is a good looking box made of sturdy metal. The included hardware makes hanging it a breeze and can easily be done without help, which is pretty amazing considering the weight of this cabinet. It even comes with 3 very handy small bungees for the door shelves to help retain items. Now the bad. Though big, with having two actual shelves inside, there is not room (height) for larger cleaner containers. (bottle of bleach of carpet shampoo) I have moved the shelves to accomodate those but only really small items will fit on the shelves now. The catches to keep the door closed are terrible. They take up considerable space and alow free travel in the doors before holding them. The lock catch holds the door slightly out from the fully closed position. The doors don't line up squarely and there is no adjustment on them

Good looking, good quality cabinets

Nice looking as set, but can be a little pricey. Catch on sale and they are a nice addition to garage.

Not quite what meets the eye

I ordered/received 4 of these units quite promptly after confirming in the store that they hung on a wall bracket attached to the wall studs. While installing the first 2 units I realized that these cabinets are not 31" wide - they are 29" wide (but 31" tall). First thought was that I'd received the wrong cabinets, but upon double-checking the specs, it says they are actually 29" wide. I missed that detail. Aside from the wrong online headline, 3 of the 4 cabinets arrived aligned properly, but 1 was warped on the bottom. They'll work and hold a lot. Glad I didn't pay full retail for them.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Junk Cabinet

Received my cabinet today. Cabinet came assemble, damage door, locked, no keys, bag of bolts, some springs with a clamp and no instructions. No one to call, just an e-mail address. I have sent e-mail but doubt I will get a response in a timely manner, previous experience. Call the Sears center 20 miles away and they said they would take it back and process a refund. I think they should pay for my gas and time. Tired of dealing with mediocre stores.

Craftsman Professional 31 Wide 5-Shelf Wall Cabinet, great

Craftsman Professional 31 Wide 5-Shelf Wall Cabinet, this too is awesome, we have two of these. The doors hold a lot of can type items, and the shelves are very solid. I have read some of the other reviews and we were lucky, ours were very complete and in great shape. Well worth the money.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
