I used this grinder to restore an old snowthrower, and a dozen other items - excellent durability and the perfect tool for metal work. This is signficantly better than the other high end brands compared with their 7 amp models. The threads per inch on this is standard so there are many attachments that fit this tool.
The only negative was the Sears store that I went to. I ordered this online and shipped to store. When I went to pick up the item from merchandise pickup they handed me an angle grinder in a box that had been opened. I thought this was strange so when I got out to the car I opened the box and realized that they had given me a USED angle grinder. It looked like the tool had been through hell and back (scratches, worn on corners, no factory sealed anything) and had a very used disk. I went back into the store and the sales associates there gave me a hard time for 15 minutes saying that because I bought it online they couldn't exchange it [even though I just picked it up less than two minutes prior]. Eventually the sales associates called a manager and the manager resolved the issue. That was the maddest I have ever been at any store.
Again, excellent tool, bad store.

I bought this grinder to replace a 10+ year old DeWalt that died. At first, I was skeptical to buy this grinder, having heard mixed reviews on Craftsman power tools (mostly not so good), but gave it a shot anyhow. Boy am I glad I did! I love the way it fits & feels in the hands. It doesn't vibrate like my Makita or old DeWalt, and I love the switch! You won't be disappointed with this product.

It grinds faster than I thought it would. Put a cutting wheel on it and I can cut metal in a fourth of the time it took me using my air powered cutting tool. Worth every bit that I paid for it.

I've owned this grinder for a little over a year now and it has been very handy and needed many times over. Used it from rust removal to grinding out spot welds and cutting hardened bolts and plate steel. Haven't had any issues and have not been looking or wishing for one with more power. For the average diy job or handy-mans collection this seems to hold up just as Dewalt does or any similar brand could.

We used the grinder the same day we bought it using cutting blades to cut through cast iron. After about 45 minutes into the job the motor of the grinder got hot and began smoking as if it were going to over-heat and burn up. We ended up exchanging it the next day without problems for a new grinder of the same model which I have not used as of yet.

I purchased the grinder for a project my Hubby is working on, he had quite a lot of areas that he had welded that needed to be ground smooth, he was extremely pleased with the light weightness of the grinder and how efficiently it ground the welds! The grinding wheel that came with it still looks like new even though he did a ton of grinding! He said it was very easy to get into the areas he was having to grind!

Purchased this grinder today. Put it to work right away on a project, With the 4.5 inch knotted wheel. Stripped the rust off old parts and wore the wheel down to the nubbs. Great tool I can tell with the good care it will be around for a long time. I considered purchasing an air powered grinder instead. Glad I bought this one. Awesome power, I tried to bogg it down and could not stop the wheel. My only complaint is that it does not come with a case.
