After reading the other 19 reviews, I knew what to expect. This is a sturdy base with a fairly cheap top operated with unfortunately cheap, plastic handles. What I like about it, is that the height adjusts and the table tilts. It fits my needs perfectly. I gave it 4 stars as Sears can do better with the top and plastic hardware, but it is still worth its price. I'll just have to be careful with it. I'm using it for woodworking. Its clamping mechanism is certainly not for heavy duty clamping. It's a great idea. I'd pay twice the price for one made of quality materials.

Great price. Sturdy, solid and easy to use. The reviews about the feet popping off are accurate. not a product defect but an assembly defect. Most people are in such a hurry to get going on the project they (as it was for me) try to shortcut the purchase and assembly of this unit. It's obvious that the rubber foot pads require patience ti install. You may even get them backward first shot. Using a rubber mallet I was able to pop them on reasonable well. The weight of the table when I sat on it reinforced the setting. I am 6'3" the adjustable height is AMAZING. It takes all the stress off my back for extended periods. The height adjustment also allows me to mate it up to my miter saw table perfectly for precision cuts. I have cut all sorts of **** with this thing. Flooring, pipes 2x4, 4x4 and 1x6" besides! Plastic handles guide the steel worm screws.Operation of jaws is smooth and even. Heavy weight means it's solid. the first time you place 5' of 4" galvanized pipe in the jaws you'll understand. Folds up slim. Folds out with a well placed shove of your foot. Legs spread evenly, top folds down/out and handily secured with 2 stout dog legged handles attached to 3/8" bolts. No need to lower unit and lose your settings. Folds easily in the extended position. For the price better than the comptition.

Heavy work bench with very cheap plasitic parts. The feet on two legs were broken in two days and there are no replacements to be found. Sears really blew this one. I guess I will have to buy directly from China if I want any customer service on this one. Thanks but no thanks.
This beast is heavy, poorly designed, and harder to set up than previous clamping tables I have owned (going back 30 years or so). The complicated leg assembly makes it virtually impossible to clamp something vertically if it needs to extend very far below the face of the table (e.g., support a vertical 2x4 if you need to work on its end) because all the stuff underneath gets in the way. I could live with this limited utility, but one of the cheap plastic crank handles cracked at the screw that holds it to the shaft, and when i went on line to find a replacement part I discovered that none were available and there were no substitutes. Now it's pretty much a small, over-priced work surface. So much for Sears standing behind their tools.

The table itself is sturdy and well-built, but a lot of the little plastic parts seem very flimsy. For example, the plastic feet keep popping off and the little plastic corner protectors are also constantly falling off. I do like the clamping and the adjustable size of the table, as well as how easy it is to tilt to a specific angle.

Bought this table for the height adjustment so I could make a longer table with another Craftsman work table I have had for 8 years. I am getting another just like it to go along with this one. Yes, the feet are plastic and the handles are plastic and they do break. The table top is MDF. A little initiative and determination and anyone with any skills at all can repair these minor problems. The table will last a very long time. Thank You Sears for a good product.
