Craftsman Professional  Universal Professional Poly Cart

I bought this cart and so far it has been about what I expected. Very easy to put together. The only complaint I have so far is the carrying capacity: The specifications claim it is 1,000 lbs, but the instructions with the cart advise not to exceed 800 lbs.

Instructions are clear that you should grease the axles before use but I found that when trying to remove the grease gun from the axle fitting it cause the axle grease fitting to pull right off the wheel - and it did it on BOTH axles!! My suggestion do not grease the axle as indicated or you will have a problem trying to remove the grease gun. These are VERY cheap grease fittings on the wheels. Other than that it is a very nice cart.

Sears did not have the double axel cart, so I bought this one for half the price. unforuntately this cart is not heavy duty quality. If your yard is flat and you want to use the cart for lightweight chores, you will be very happy. If you want to transport a large quantiy of dirt or a full load of rocks, you may struggle. Make sure the tires are filled completely with air. The axel has low clearance and the tires are small. Ill have to rethink my style of use and take it easy and the cart, then it will perform fine.

This cart makes my yard work so much easier. It is easy for me and my grandsons (12yrs. old) to load and unload the hedge cilppings and other jobs we have to do. I have not used it for any mulch spreading,or for moving the stack of fire wood closer to the shop yet. I will write again after these jobs are complete. As of the prensent this is a blessing for me. This cart is very poorly designed to carry anything other then leaves or branches. The first time I used the cart I was carrying approximately 600 pounds of dirt when the tongue bent in half. The metal failed where at the bolt hole for the Foot pedal bed lift. The hole going through the tongue is not reinforce. This creates a stress point, a 1000 pound load is not possible in this cart.

This is a quality cart, don't be scared of the plastic body. I've had it for three weeks now and tested it with 780lbs of brick and about a third of a yard of gravel over rugged terrain with no issues. It could've held more gravel but the tires were pushing their limit. The tailgate is very flimsy but with the sloped design of the body I haven't needed it. It dumps easily but heavy loads can pin it down and you will need to assist by shoveling some out.

This cart is built and looks excellent with the Sears Craftsman Professional Garden Tractor that we have. The cart assembles easily if you choose to do that yourself. Instructions are fairly clear and simply done with a few tools that most folks have on hand. Our local Towanda/Wysox PA Sears handled the entire transaction in a most professional and customer friendly way - as usual with all of our purchases there - which makes shopping at our local Sears store a pleasure and we are confident in their help if any matter should arise. The Cart works great and we love the separate tool/glove/storage area. Cleans out easily too! We are very pleased with this purchase and know it will last for many years to come. Oh yes, the wheels have grease fittings for the bearings - a great plus. Thank you again Sears!
