Very handy tool. Works good

I recieved mo work table as a Cristmas gift about 2 years ago.  I have used it as a table to hold my miter saw and as a clamp to hold work.  It has held wood, of several width and lenght, I was using a hand saw on with no movement.  The only time anything has moved is when I did not have the table adjusted correctly.  I would tell anyone that needs a smal, adjustable, and portable work table to get one.

Very poor clamp design
The purpose of this item is to CLAMP material to be worked on. The ends of the screw arm assemblies are round and the handles have a matching round hole in them. Thus ALL the clamping force is taken on the small screw that holds the handle in place. One of these broke the first time the item was used and the "clamp" tightened. The shaft and handle fitting should be mechanically sound and the screw should only be there to prevent the handle falling off. Simply making the end of the screw arm assembly and matching handle square in section (or even splined) would have prevented this. Very poor engineering design. Item is not fit for the purpose.

Not Craftsman Quality

Bought this because my Stanley Workmate finally wore out after 21 years. Had this for two months and both handles stripped off the screw shaft, table top chipping away and when I first put it together, the bolts that hold the moving table top were way too long. Went back to Sears Store where it was purchased and found it only had a 30 day warranty. Any product that only has a thirty day warranty is of poor quality. Sears should be ashamed for selling this thing. I have no idea how long the warranty was on the Stanley WorkMate because I never had a single issue with that product.

Great table for its intended purpose1

This little table is GREAT for what it is intended for. No, you can't beat on it with a 9 lb. hammer, use it for a step ladder, or rebuild an engine on top of it. You can, however, use it for clamping, around the house projects and general hobby and light chores. It is not hard to assemble, all you need is a little common sense and about 15 minutes and you're ready to work. Bottom line, this is a great table. Buy it, you won't regret it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Reviews are not always helpful

Purchased this item after reading reviews about it's poor quality. I learned that the assembly process needed some common sense as the directions were a bit inadequate. Once assembled, I was very pleased with the result - the product is strong and all of it's advertised functions work well. Bad reviews drove the price to the clearance level - take advantage of the low price when you can - and beware of reviews, both good and bad.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't buy. Only clamps uniform thickness items (and not tightly)

Even as pictured, you should be able to tell that if you needed to cut (or press down to modify) one side of the table leg, the other side will not stay down. Now, imagine that the other side is not the same thickness and the clamping surfaces (meaning the clamping surfaces are not square). Then, the object will not be secure. Useless. If you want to clamp a mitre saw to the table, it is mediocre. Buy a mitre saw stand instead. They provide better tool and work piece accuracy, convenience, and stability. Even a few cheap clamps, a scrap piece of plywood, and a couple of sawhorses are better than this. Cheaper, too.

Cheap price, cheap table. You get what you pay for

The included parts did not include the correct-sized washers for attaching the 2 work surfaces, and I had to make a trip to the local hardware store to get some. Without that, the table surfaces were loose and would move. After I did secure the table tops, they don't match up exactly with each other. This will still work for clamping, but all of the angle holes pre-drilled into the top are basically just for show now (but I wasn't planning to rely on them anyhow). With the cheap plastic surface mounts and handles, I don't think that one should try to clamp anything very tightly.

poorly made, poorly designed

This clamping table could have been real useful. Could have been. the handle that tightens one side wouldn't untighten, the MDF worktable surface is crap. When you try to replace it it's way more trouble than it's worth. After reading the other reviews I didn't even bother trying to see if Sears stocked a replacement work surface. And, yes, the feet have never stayed on. In sum, it had a lot of promise, but was apparently meant for only light clamping jobs, not for a person with a workshop who actually used the tool. OK, that being said, I appreciate my daughter giving it to me for Christmas and I did use it for a few years, off and on, before abandoning it because of the above mentioned problems.

Simple Replacement Parts hard to find and expensive

I had an online chat with parts direct, and it turns out that getting replacement pegs would cost more than a brand new table. (71.04). So the simple fact that simple replacement parts are so expensive means that nobody should buy this product. In comparison, a set of 4 Black and Decker Workmate pegs only costs 10 dollars. Also there was no online manual availabe. The paper version would cost an additional 2.59.
